No doubt, Chelsea had done really well defending that ball over the top for Gomis so far, always catching him off but then Willian was caught in a deep position and he let their offside trap down spectacularly. Bit silly from Courtois to stick his leg out like that once Gomis had beaten to the ball though, surely better off just conceding the goal and keeping it 11v11 than taking the red and hoping they fuck the penalty.

If you come out like that you've got to be sure you're going to get to the ball first. If not then you're better off staying at home as any touch and it's a pen and a red card. Cahill had got back close to Gomis so could have stayed back.

Who's game features a higher proportion of pure work rate, Willian or Dave Edwards? Just can't believe that guy gets a gig for a club like Chelsea, contributes so little so often.

Swansea could go on and win this. Great approach from them right from the start, if you just sit back and defend at Stamford Bridge you'll lose. They've played to their strengths and have created loads.

They are very one dimensional at times, get it to Hazard and hope Costa can find a way to get on the end of something in the box.

Fabregas can only find a pass if there's movement ahead of him, Mourinho frequently sends out 6-7 outfield players who's job is little more than maintaining the shape and shutting the game down. I think this Chelsea side is comfortably the least entertaining of any he's managed so far, his Inter side were painfully pragmatic but at least they spent a fair amount of time hitting teams on the counter and that got pretty entertaining through with the attacking quartet generally allowed to just stay as far upfield as they wanted whilst the rest of them dug in, this Chelsea team is just workrate front to back 90% of the time, no-one gets a free ride to allow more of a threat anymore.
