Lettuce Liz then Tetchy Rish! and the battle to replace him

Disruptive protest is very effective. Although I draw the line at blocking roads and stopping traffic. You're holding up emergency services and people that need to get to hospital.

The "emergency services to hospital" argument is a bit of a myth peddled by those who want to prevent disruptive protests for political reasons. There have been rare occurrences where an ambulance has been caught up in the start of a protest and has had to change course but once a protest is established, control centres are very effective at re routing vehicles (as they do for any traffic obstruction on many other days).

By far, the biggest obstacle for emergency vehicles getting to hospitals is emergency vehicles getting out of hospitals when they get there due to blockages at A&E. By far the biggest danger (that we can do something about) we face as a human race is climate change

Quite. I was stuck in an ambulance with Alfie for six and a half hours earlier in the month -after waiting two hours to get one - and it wasn't because of protestors, it was because the NHS is being destroyed

Why does the speaker continually allow Sunak to state that he is reducing the debt? It's not true and if he was pulled up on mistruths or asked him to confirm what measure of debt, poverty or anything else he bullshits on it would allow PMQs to be more meaningful. In a way you can forgive him for not pulling him up for each and every claim but when Sunak does it weekly he should intervene.

Hunt - We have not increased borrowing by £28 bn.
Correct Jeremy - Its gone up by....

Public sector borrowing between April and October was just above £98bn, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS),

In response to the accusation, a spokesperson for Cleverly said yesterday: “He did not say that, and would not. He’s disappointed people would accuse him of doing so.”

This afternoon a source close to Cleverly told PA Media his off-the-cuff remark in the Commons had been directed at the MP, rather than his constituency. The source said:

James made a comment. He called Alex Cunningham a shit MP. He apologises for unparliamentary language.
As was made clear yesterday, he would never criticise Stockton. He’s campaigned in Stockton and is clear that it is a great place.

Nothing to see here or anything wrong with a minister who is a serving Home Secretary calling anyone a shit MP or more likely calling his constituency a shithole.

I have no idea why it's ok for people in such incredible power to behave like such incredible cunts.

Because the current party and its MPs were crafted in the image of this arsehole.

Wasn't like there weren't deafening sirens about which way he would take discourse if he were in power. And yet they still did it.

Reading about some of the fine detail of yesterday's Autumn Statement, they have in their forecasts the fuel escalator continuing from next year with the reversal of the 5p cut in it included too. This along with £20bn of public spending cuts to be found from none protected areas essentially means that that they would in reality miss their pledge to bring down borrowing as a % of GDP as there is no way these increases and cuts would be included in future budgets. They've basically given up worrying about what happens with the public finances after the next election as they know it won't be them in power.

Yep. The equivalent of Sven picking Walcott in 2006 instead of any forward who wasn't still of school age and not giving a toss about the flak if/when it went wrong because it's not his problem any more.

I note the rising net migration figure has got Suella and her little cabal all shouty again

If only the last Home Secretary was any good they could have sorted something out

Jenrick now screaming that he has a plan (that isn’t government policy either).

Braverman saying that the British people voted to slash immigration is a load of bollocks as well. Every metric has the state of the economy and NHS as miles ahead of immigration in the items of concern list.

She's got some brass neck shouting about this when she was in post last week.

It’s paying the bills. It’s waiting for years for hospital appointments. It’s hating the government for killing thousands. There are those for whom it is still a big issue but the metrics suggest the above hit rather harder with more of the electorate.
