Leicester (H): We always win 4-3 verdict thread

Thought Vinny was superb and was surprised to see him subbed off. Was causing them all sorts of problems down the left.

Agreed, I said to Johnny I didn't know why he'd taken him off. Love the kid. The only gripe I'd have about him today was his crossing wasn't very good but other than that I want to see him in the side regularly in the near future.

He's always too eager to send the early ball in, I'd rather he just went at his full back more often tbh.

I was surprised to see him come off too, thought perhaps Nuno wanted to improve defensively on the left.

He hit the byline a few times today to be fair.

Wow - I’m still exhausted... but sobering up now! What a game - Leicester must fucking hate us!

Thought Jota and Jimenez looked great up top together... and Neves back to his magical, mercurial best.

We could have been four up in the first half if Neves early strike had gone in and Jota had put his header either side of their keeper.

Special shout to the Donk who may run like an Ostrich but looks to be a real player... like him a lot.

Vinaigre offered something different - wasn’t great second half but something to work with - his pace and pressing really puts the opposition on the back foot.. great to see.

We missed Boly - that was clear, but we’re okay... we can cope for now.

Upgrades on the ‘weaker’ players will happen in time.

Only real downside for me today was Rui - really poor kicking all game and switched off a couple of times which nearly cost us. Looks like he has a clanger in him. Wouldn’t be upset to see Ruddy back in for a couple of games.

Overall a truly memorable game - full of incident and drama... which to be fair Leicesters pacey attackers fully contributed to... thought Gray’s goal was really well taken... he’s pretty special.

Yes we had some dodgy refereeing decisions - he was awful - but you know what - fuck em! They’re all terrible - we need to get used to it and just keep battling to the end - which we did.

Bloody great goal celebration from Nuno. Love that man! Again - fuck the ref [emoji35]

Bloody loved it.... now where the hell are those paracetamol??

Apart from 1 shit kick I thought Rui was better today than he has been all season with his feet. Having Donck as his target made a huge difference. When Doc came on he tried 2 of the old style kick to him and they went out of play but that is more that tactic being shit than anything. Thankfully he went back to looking for Donck. He handled Benno passing back to him from 8 yards out pretty well. That went out of play but that is the best anything could come from that.

He almost fucked up with the mis-control but his recovery was superb.

He ain't close to being dropped....(Well he will next Saturday I guess)

Just had a sharp exhale as I'd forgotten about that one! Had a nightmare vision flash in front of my eyes of Rui not being ready when Bennett did that and it going down as an og - phew

What a day!

Ref was shocking.

Company was brilliant.

I think you are being harsh to the referee. For me that is the best set of officials we have had in aeons.

With all due respect, what the fuck were you watching?! :icon_lol:

(the line officials were fine, but the referee was shite)

Just watched MOTD to jog me memory and here are some idle thoughts:

-Jota does really well to beat Simpson to the ball at the last moment for his first
-God knows what Patricio was thinking for his bombscare moment but he reacted well
-Coady's pass leading to the corner where we scored was sublime
-First Leicester goal is really poor to concede, starts with the Bennett effort but someone needs to put a tackle in there, Saiss goes to ground easy and Patricio seems to be a bit too far to his left
-Pleasantly surprised by Donck's ability to get forwards, was expecting him to be much more inclined to defending
-Vinagre cuts back too much, has talent and pace I want to see him take on his man more often
-Jonny had a poor game and struggled to deal with Chilwell overlapping especially
-Fantastic pass by Neves for our 3rd
-Three people following the flight of the ball for Leicester's 3rd so how the hell does Morgan win it?
-Only directly involved in the final goal but what a talent Jiminez is, puts in so much effort and has a fantastic knack for getting past a player

Neves, Jota, and Jiminez were brilliant today. Impressive showings by Saiss and Donck also.

The game.

I don't think he got that much wrong at all.

Agree, not that many errors - we have had much, much worse. Major decision that he got wrong was the ridiculous decision to book Jota when he got kicked by Simpson but it didn't cost us thankfully.

Oh yes - the Jota booking was a nonsense. Apart from that, I thought he was excellent, as were his assistants. If we winge about that, we need our bumps felt, frankly.

I would also point out the one where Neves was properly nailed in the 2nd half. He saw it as he gave us the advantage but didn't show a card for the foul. Based on his cards in the game that one should have been. Bennett getting taken out was missed by both ref and lino.

And he missed the tug on Jonny right before their 2nd goal, despite standing right next to them.

Sure, we’ve had a lot worse, but to describe his performance as “excellent”, is farcical. Some really odd decisions from the referee today and once again, a lack of consistency.

Struggling with some of the Vinagre love, he ball watched and gave the ball away in a number of situations. I've said before he gives us balance and I like that, but I thought he was poor today.

This was my opinion too, don't get me wrong I think he is going to be superb and we definately look better balanced going forward with him there but made quite a few mistakes today as you'd expect from a youngster especially as he's not had a run in the team. Having said all that, considering where we sit in the league (we're not gunna flirt with relegation and not gunna get top 6) think it would be worth giving him an extended run in the starting eleven as we're unlikely to be signing Jonny permanently.

Looking at Morgan's goal it appears to me that Dendoncker ends up obstructing Saiss and Bennett which allows Morgan to get to it first. Kind of a freak thing, but also we should take nothing away from the quality of Maddison's ball in. He is some player.

Also thought we should have had a penalty just before we got the winner!

Agree with TT and Sycophantia on Vinagre. I love him, and I thought he did fairly well today but there's still so much for him to improve on - which really excites me mind. I thought subbing him was the right thing. I thought Jonny had a better game overall.

I will stick with farcical quite happily. The tug on Jonny I called for myself. But everyone in the ground I talked to disagreed.

He was excellent for me. Sorry if that is an issue.
