Leicester (H): We always win 4-3 verdict thread

Anyone know why Maddison and Gibbs-White appeared to be such big mates?

Is this where you come out about your standing in the S&M community?

If my reputation hasn't preceded me, then I'm clearly not the big deal I thought I was.

I imagine both have played together in younger England setups.

Just watched MOTD to jog me memory and here are some idle thoughts:
-Three people following the flight of the ball for Leicester's 3rd so how the hell does Morgan win it?.

Dendoncker got what appeared to be a slight slap in the face, and an arm on his shoulder being used to climb for the header

Don't think I need to add anything on Jota's performance yesterday. I bloody love footballers that fight for the team, that never give up. Contrast Jota's body language with Helder Costa's this season. Yes, Jota will get sent off for retaliation - or thighing someone's studs - sooner or later but what a bloody player he is.

Was thinking this myself - the old adage about it not being the size of the dog in the fight, and all that.

Jota's early finishes, especially for the second remind me of God at times..

We’re a much better team with Jota in it, his movement is brilliant and he can get himself between the lines but also go in behind as shown yesterday. The shape we are playing now seems to help us have a bit more control in midfield and have two players nearer each other up top. As mentioned on here before it also seems to allow Neves a bit more time and space by having Moutinho and Dendoncker in there.

I liked the midfield shape today, looked like Neves deepest, Moutinho all over the centre circle and Donk almost box to box.

Who says Nuno can't change style?

I agree.

3-5-2 might now be the preferred system with 3-4-3 the 2nd option.

At the moment Raul and Jota are in excellent form but the rest of our forwards are a bit off the pace. Let’s continue to play to our strengths as we seem to have more bite in attack now.

I really like how Dendoncker adds flexibility in either our midfield and/or defence. It’s taken a while but I reckon he’ll be a real plus in the 2nd half if the season.

I still didn't think it was quite a 3-5-2. Donk and Moutinho seemed to rotate being a number 10, i thought the 3 of them were all fantastic.

Neves benefited from space to pick a pass, partly because Leicester gave him space, but also because with more men in the middle Leicester couldn't double upon him.

Moutinho sitting behind the front two has made a huge difference to the side. Bolsters the midfield, counters away teams putting 5 in their centre and seems to make us far more balanced. Having Neves, Dendoncker and Moutinho in that triangle is going to give sides a lot of problems.

Couldn't agree with this and the above post more.

MGW will be the natural successor for Moutinho in that position

Plus, we do have options of width in the bench with Cav, Traore & Costa if we need it

I like MGW a lot, but he has been poor for the past few appearances. He doesn't deserve to start for the time being, that will change in the future

MGW's has got a lot of work to do on his tenacity if he wants to replace Moutinho

True. But he has time to learn, and a master to learn from.

so much better with a fully fit Jota in the team. he does what Costa should be doing and driving at defenders with pace, making them commit fouls.
look at last season to see how many goals we scored with free kicks just outside the box. can only think of the one against Everton so far this year (though i may be wrong). we certainly have had many so far.
