Leicester (A) build up thread

What part of the free kick not being given isn't the start of the first goal?

Interesting thoughts Mark, apart from the fact it didn't happen.

Again, the start isn't always the most significant part of the story, we'll all have to start celebrating everytime there's a freekick out wide now as it's apparently a sure thing of a goal.

Does the bloke who concedes a corner always get slated when the opposition score from one?

I suppose he would if he just lamped it out of play for no reason.

Doherty plays a part in both goals we conceded but they could have been prevented by others along the way. I wasn't too bothered about that, I knew five years ago that he couldn't defend. I'm bothered that he's now spent a year playing as an attacking wing back and his crossing is probably worse now than it was 12 months ago.

If we're gonna blame the person who made the first error for forcing everyone else into a position to make errors then Jonny gets the blame for the first goal for his dreadful crossfield ball.

Regardless this is all pretty moot as I doubt Nuno will throw Vinagre in away from home against a top half team quite yet so Doherty will play.

If we're going on sliding scales of blame then their first goal starts with Jonny who gave the ball away with the cross-field pass.
Was that who it was? Couldn't remember who did it at the time and it wasn't on the highlights. Bad pass by him to give the ball away, followed by an unnecessary and stupid foul by Doherty, and then a poor header by Boly. Three errors there and if just one of those doesn't happen then Everton don't score.

Same happens with Everton's 2nd. Bennett gets too tight on Tosun, Neves (who had just taken a knock to be fair) and Doherty fail to track Richarlison, Coady needs to react quicker to shut down the angle. Multiple mistakes and if one doesn't happen then they don't score.

End of the day I am harsher on Doherty because with someone like Boly you can defend him and point out that this mistake was a rare one, his defending has been exceptional otherwise even if this was a poor game, worst I have seen him have. Doherty makes errors on a regular basis and has never shown himself to be an able defender which makes him the weak link. Also can't cross for shit in a formation where wing-backs are the most important position on the pitch, we're playing with a handicap.

I'm confused by this cause and affect mallarky. Jonny isn't to blame for the poor ball leading to Doherty's foul, but Doherty is to blame for Boly's shit downwards header.

You're right you're confused. Must be your age ;)

Nuno is at fault for playing an obviously shit player that most on here know isnt up to it, don't know why we don't sack him is Allardice available? :sneaky:

Leicester City v Wolves
Referee: Mike Dean
Assistants: Ian Hussin, Mark Scholes
Fourth official: Graham Scott

And some people's opinions are that arguing the same point all the time is really, really dull.

Who was that ref we complained about a few years back who mysteriously never ref’d a Wolves match again.

Permatan Marriner. We complained about him after Arsenal away in March 2010 (when Henry got sent off) and he never reffed a game of ours in the next two seasons. I think he has reffed us since in the Championship, he was almost certainly rubbish as he's a terrible ref.

I'm dreading getting David Coote again this season as he's now on the PL list. Thankfully Steve Martin is not.
