Don't understand why the Everton match is being discussed in this thread when it has its own verdict thread, however....
I have a HD recording of the game and have watched Everton's first goal in slo-mo and would like to offer these observations.
On the 1st goal, Keane (no.4 ) runs from the edge of the box and jumps at Willy Boly as the ball arrives making him head the ball down instead of away. The ball then falls down in between Boly and Keane and hits Keane (on the arm I think, but its not clear) and drops right in front of Richarlison who was unmarked so scored.
From behind you could see that Bennett was to the right of Boly and hardly jumped at all, and Richarlison was to the left of Boly, next was Jonny with another Everton player and then a further Everton player who was unmarked, outside him.
We lined up exactly the same for another set-piece in a similar position about 5 minutes later but this time Neves blocked the run of Keane and Boly cleared.
Doherty's challenge was stupid and naive for a player of his experience and IMO typified his performance throughout the whole game.
He wasn't the only one that made mistakes but all the others improved as the game went on while he didn't. Everyone can have a bad game so let's hope he gets it together for the Leicester game as unfortunately we don't have an obvious replacement.
