Leicester (A) build up thread

And some people's opinions are that arguing the same point all the time is really, really dull.

Don't put yourself down, I enjoy reading your rants on Rashford and Root.

Permatan Marriner. We complained about him after Arsenal away in March 2010 (when Henry got sent off) and he never reffed a game of ours in the next two seasons. I think he has reffed us since in the Championship, he was almost certainly rubbish as he's a terrible ref.

I'm dreading getting David Coote again this season as he's now on the PL list. Thankfully Steve Martin is not.

I had thought it was Coote who reffed us in the 1-1 at Arsenal in 2011/12. Milijas was inexplicably sent off and Mick gave a conference showing he got the ball but that was Stuart Twattwell wasn't it.

The first time I remember noticing Coote was Villa away under Zenga, where he set the standard for all future David Coote outings. I think he's relatively new. He is diabolical.

Probably not as bad as Attwell though.

I thought Pawson was decent on Saturday.

Villa away under Zenga is up there with the worst ref performances I have seen, he got about 4 major decisions wrong.

Both goals were a catalogue of errors.
1st goal....
1- stupid challenge he could never have got the ball. Doc
2- the defence were at least 6/7 yards to deep. Line up on the edge of the box ball flies into Rui's hands - Coady
3- shit header Boly
4- no one attacked the ball before it got to Boly - all players

2nd Goal
1- slow marking on the throw in
2-Doc's position was all wrong allowing the pass - Doc
3- Neves reacted to late to Richarlison's run. - Neves
4 - Coady needs to get closer to Richarlison and not let him get the Shot away.
5- Rui's position could have been better did not give himself a chance of saving it.

As I said catalogue of errors we were still at Championship pace we needed to be at premiership pace.

Hopefully that game is out our system and the players will realise they need to move the ball quicker

I wouldn’t blame Rui at all for the second - the ball was curled round Coady so he’d have seen it late, and it went Inside the post - no keepers going to save that.

Agree. I thought he got into the best position he could have to potentially block the shot at the near post and also make the angle difficult into the far post.

Unluckily for him, Richarlisons shot was excellent and he defied the odds to put it into the net at a tight angle.

Rui couldn’t really change his position without leaving himself unsighted behind Coady.

1st goal....
1- stupid challenge he could never have got the ball. Doc- AGREED
2- the defence were at least 6/7 yards to deep. Line up on the edge of the box ball flies into Rui's hands - Coady Two yards too deep yes- 6/7 No
3- $#@! header Boly-AGREED
4- no one attacked the ball before it got to Boly - all players-]Harsh- good delivery but we are in a backfoot position

2nd Goal
1- slow marking on the throw in- Yep , but that happens
2-Doc's position was all wrong allowing the pass - Doc- yep but that should be covered
3- Neves reacted to late to Richarlison's run. -Neves-Agreed
4 - Coady needs to get closer to Richarlison and not let him get the Shot away. Agreed
5- Rui's position could have been better did not give himself a chance of saving it.- Harsh, it was a daisy cutter which made it look worse

As I said catalogue of errors we were still at Championship pace we needed to be at premiership pace.- Agreed but plenty of positives from that game too

Hopefully that game is out our system and the players will realise they need to move the ball quicker.- Agreed but its not just quicker movement its attacking intent to. Plenty of nice passes where we were reluctant to go beyond or make the final run. Doherty was not as bad as many have said but he doesnt help himself when he crosses like a twat when in a good position , and that happened several times

Or in simple terms, they all just fucking stood there :)

Bennett also got too tight to Tosun & allowed the flick on to Richarlison - so his fault as well

Might as well blame all of them

Thought this was the Leicester built up but it seems to be Everton at home post match analysis.

Just in case it is the Leicester away game I'd probably start the same team, give those who underperformed (Helder, Diogo) against Everton the chance to redeem themselves.

Hopefully Cav & Traore are fit enough for the bench so that we have options, which we didn't really v Everton

That said, all the subs played well.

I don't think he'll change the starting XI, Dendoncker will definitely be in the squad. Personally I would bring Vinagre in for Doherty but I can't see it happening.

Don't think he will change it yet. I would do the same as you and also swap Dendonker for Bennett.

I tho k he will give the players time to get up to speed

I think it will end up the same as players were off there game and a kick up the bum should rectify it. Then if not...

The thing is, I hate the mindset of picking a team you know isn't your strongest and waiting for someone to fuck up before you make a change. It'd be even more silly this season where every point counts so much more. Our next game is Man City, we're going to lose to them, so give yourself the best possible chance you have of getting a result at Leicester.

Thinking about it IF he's fit I could see him putting Cav in for Helder. He does a lot more defensively.
