January 2020 transfer window

We will probably have to accept that we are at an inbetween stage - good, but not yet good enough to challenge for the top positions.

We are either looking at older players who are near, but not at the end of their career and have done stuff before (not something we have done often though Moutinho gives us the example) or younger players who show real potential & might relish to chance to prove themselves - whether this is from elsewhere in the world or from the Championship (or other PL backups is another issue).

We are not at the point of being able to attract the top class just yet & don't want to throw silly money at it - that way in the long term doesn't work

Right, our star striker whose been linked with Man Utd, we'll find someone as good as him who'll sit on our bench rather than be number 9 somewhere else?

I just don't see that happening

Edit. Unless Campana does something similar, which he might given what's been written about him, and we buy him of course

Your edit is exactly right. We don't know if there is a young Raul out there we could get. Raul was a sub at Benfica and nobody thought he would have the impact he has had.

So we're all agreed, Lemar, Bowen and Campana and we're getting into the CL :)

Giroud is a no go. He wants to go to Inter and Chelsea also want stupid money (€10m for a 33 year old who is out of contract in June). We would never do that and he has his heart set elsewhere.

Bowen- tick
Lemar-Tick

And if you want a striker who may be fairly cheap and warm the bench, Nahki Wells is hitting some form in the championship. Rather see him there than BAS .

Anyone can play in Europe now. There is no longer any cup tie issue for before and after Christmas.

I'd have taken Wells in League One, not now FFS.

A grand total of 0 Premier League goals and 30 in June. Roll fucking up, people.

Christ, we aren't that desperate.

harsh. scoring every 125 minutes in the championship at the moment. While he isn't targetman he would have been perfect for Newcastle yesterday. Hes a pest and while Jota is out he would be a cheap back up.

I am seriously lowering my horizons as then I will not be underwhelmed by our business.

We have a starting 11 that picks itself with our current squad when Boly and Jota are fit and Saiss/ Bennet are the defensive back up, Vinagre is wing back cover and Neto is it for up top.It just cannot last for the games we have left. We are going to break people.

Lowering your horizons is one thing. Wanting Nakhi fucking Wells is taking it to unbelievable levels. The shit would find signing him underwhelming and we are in fucking Europe.

yeah, that's fair enough but ask yuourself something . Given our current squad who would you have liked to come on against Newcastle- Wells or BAS?

I am not arguing its a great signing. Its not , its a band aid. But selling our number 2 striker with no number 3 ( apart from BAS). I really worry that we are about to pick up a few injuries' and niggles as goes with a long season and we just don't have the back up t5o compensate in the positions up front, especially.

We'll sign a forward. And it will be a significantly better forward than Nakhi Wells.

Nahki fucking Wells, Jesus wept

Ollie Watkins is a much better shout. Plays up front and can play any of the 3 positions and is better in the air by virtue of not being a midget

.

BAS

and that isn't because I rate BAS either. Would have loved Wells at Wolves a few seasons ago but not now.

Nakhi Wells, Chris Wood. Have I been reading the 2015 transfer thread by mistake?

Yea what next Robbie Keane to make a triumphant return?
