January 2020 transfer window

Tbf Chris Wood is probably better than Cutrone in every domain except age and price.

Yet if we’d signed him for £16m instead in the summer we’d have turned our noses up but the Italian none of us have seen play much / at all was fine.

As if Raul is shit in the air?!

We are definitely getting more crosses coming in from Traore at the centre of the box and towards the back post.

Having someone who is good in the air would be another string in our bow. I'm not suggesting a big lump like Wood who I wouldn't want. Just someone who scores a few with his head as well as being a decent wide forward. That's a tough ask to find but would be great.

Maybe bring back Maierhofer? :)

Shame we don’t have a WB with Docs runs/aerial ability on the left.

Absolutely, is the problem more we don't have enough bodies in the box when Traores crosses come over, given that they aren't that accurate, not sure with our present shape we will get that

Teach boly tp shoot and stick him up front, problem solved, would love to see defenders trying to box him out or hold him back

That's it,it's all over now,Paul franks has just said on WM wolves will struggle to sign anyone because of Thomas cook going out of business, and foson taking a massive hit money wise, there's no spare cash.
I know that's bollocks, you know it,but fully expect a social media meltdown over it

What did someone say yesterday? It's only January 10th FFS. Why worry about recruitment FFS.
Wolves no-options-on-the-bench 1-1 Absolutely crap Newcastle team,
That's why

Fosuns cash has nothing to do with wolves. Fosun have never wanted to bankroll us. They are an investment company. They’ve put money in but it’s a loan the club need to pay back. They won’t pay over the odds for players but unfortunately the only players you get for value are players other clubs don’t want (Cutrone), who aren’t good enough.

Until they realise this we won’t progress at the rate the fans want. Nuno is obliviously hinting at this but we will see if they will listen

I’ve just heard that. What a fucking idiot.

Has that result dropped us from 7th to 17th, then?

Come on, Alan, you're more intelligent than that. Of course it hasn't dropped us to 17th, but it hasn't moved us up to 5th either. Someone said yesterday that there were 5 games to play before the end of the window - well, we've played the first one & dropped two points. We cannot play four more games with a team that's knackered and a bench that the manager very clearly sees as inadequate

I'm being deliberately obtuse, but I do find the current climate around our transfer dealings to be a tad reductive.

We need reinforcements, that much is certain. But reinforcements don't change the fact that the team that was put out today is too good to concede a goal like they did. There are failures on both sides.

Soon we'll be accusing Fosun of lacking ambition. Meanwhile we sit within touching distance of the top 5 of the bloody Premier League. We're doing absolutely fine at the moment.

Surprised you haven’t noticed that things are ace or shite with us Wolves fans, nowhere in between.

Players that have played too much football are inevitably going to underperform. When Fergie was at his pomp he wanted two players for each position without a huge drop. There was a drop, obviously, but not the cliff edge that we've got. We've been lucky with injuries, but the 'small squad' requirement is taking its toll on quite a few. The lack of alternatives is hurting us from both a fitness perspective and a tactical flexibility one

We've kept one clean sheet in 14 games now. That's not down to tiredness.

Do we need to improve if we want UCL football? Absolutely. But at the moment the sky is barely scratched, much less falling.

I think the angst is that Arsenal, Yanited and Spurs are collectively wank right now, we are in the process of self sabotaging ourselves out of a once in a generation opportunity with a weak window in the summer and potentially this window.

We could very well sort out three huge signings that do the trick but you can rely on the three clubs mentioned getting their houses in order next season. PL or EL we need to capitalise.
