January 2020 transfer window

The team in the final:

Curtis Anderson (released by City, released by some second tier American team in August, no club)
George McEachran (mired in the Chelsea youth team, no loans anywhere, 19 and not played a senior game)
Marc Guehi (played one League Cup game for Chelsea this season, joined Swansea on loan today)
Jonathan Panzo (left Chelsea to go to Monaco, played two league games for them last season, out on loan in Belgium this year)
Phil Foden (as we know, hardly plays for City)
Tashan Oakley-Boothe (one League Cup game for Spurs two years ago, nothing since, no loans, still in their Academy)
Rhian Brewster (seems to get injured a lot. Still not played a league game. Joined Swansea on loan this week)
Callum Hudson-Odoi (as we know, did pretty well last season for Chelsea, looked like he might go to Bayern, got injured, done nothing this year)
Joel Latibeaudiere (no games for City as yet. Out on loan at Twente this season. Not done much)
Steven Sessegnon (same age as his brother. 10 league games for Fulham this season)
Morgan Gibbs-White (9 league starts, obviously not good enough, get rid)

Subs were Nya Kirby (no games for Palace yet, underwhelming loan at Blackpool last season), Conor Gallagher (actually looking really good for Charlton on loan from Chelsea this season) and Angel Gomes (4'3'', can't get near the worst United team in nearly 40 years)

Fucvks saske DW!
Stop putting words in my mouth!
I have said he has done fuck all to justify a starting place and has not come on this year despite the hype. OK, great nor have others. I could not give two fucks about them. They are not wolves players. If MGW has a real future with us he needs to make a helluva lot more of the chances he is given than he has this season. If he can't he won't survive. 19 or 29!

He has started 3 league games this season

But he does have 22 appearances this season with 3 goals and 5 assists. Not bad after coming back from a serious injury.

I'm not sold on MGW yet but the glimpses of quality he has shown have given everybody enough sight of his potential and if Nuno can do one thing extremely well it's turning potential into genius. Up to MGW to prove that now.

Foden part of man city squad of close to 30 established internationals

Mgw part of the team that used the fewest players in 36 games this season yet can't get a starting place prior to injury. It says plenty.

So Foden gets a pass from you for not starting when he has established internationals in front of him, but MGW doesn't because he only has Moutinho, Neves, Dendoncker and Saiss I front him? 4 players who've obviously never kicked a ball in international football

Cyber - You were the one comparing him to his peers, he seems to be doing ok in that respect.

I just don't understand the constant need (not just from you) to write off a player like that. Someone who clearly has abundant talent, has been here since he was 8, is still very young, has hardly started any league games to prove anything either way (2 of his 9 starts were under Lambert, which proves how hard it is to get in our team), is local (well, ish) and who could save us spending tens of millions on another player down the line.

If he doesn't perform then he won't play as goes for literally everyone at the club under this manager.

Patrick Cutroneee
Patrick Cutroneee
He said our song was
A load of baloney
And thats fucking tragicccckkk
(but he's not wrong)

The voice of reason !

He may have been suffering with a back complaint for a while for all we know. Given Nuno's track record of developing players I'm still confident that there is a real player for Wolves in MGW.

Cutrone deal done, 3m euro loan with a must buy option in 18 months for 16m euro, we completely recoup our investment.
Who will be the new forward who will replace him?

Got out of jail with that one. Think it was Mourinho who said he didn't excel at anything. Hard to disagree. He tried hard and obviously cared but then so would I.

So, big unveil on the pitch at half time today then?

Chris Wood.
The sort of player who can get on the end of some of Adama's crosses, put himself about, link play around the edge of the box and will work hard.
Not massively gifted but would be a good foil for some of our more talented players and give us another option off the bench.

Don't want players like Wood filling out the squad. A quality player who can play wide or through the middle would be more sensible, that way they're not competing for 1 spot only.

This post belongs in 2015 when everyone wanted a “target man”.

I wanted wood when he was linked to us five years ago, but joined leeds instead. Hed cost north of 30m now, we can def do better for the money.
I do agree with need a big aerial presence, we have so many crosses coming in now, someone a bit more skilled would be nice though

I thought something like that might be the response. I think some might be getting above their station a bit tbh. 'Target man' implies someone you keep lumping the ball to from the keeper or defence. Not what I want at all.
A threat from corners? Yes. Someone who is neat and tidy and can use both feet? Yes.
I'd prefer Rashford, Firminho or Salah but think that they might be beyond our reach at the moment.
Wilf Zaha no thanks.

Zaha would cost north of £80m and would think we were beneath him if we enquired anyway!

I do agree we could do with some aerial presence as an option, but it is also noticeable that Adama has been putting low crosses in more lately which plays to our current strengths. It would be nice to have both options available.
