Although a lot of United fans are also asking why Luke Shaw is driving the car...

Cutrone to Fiorentina done, 18 month loan.
I'm told the deal includes an obligation for Fiorentina to buy Cutrone if he makes a certain number of appearances.
With the loan fee and the proposed transfer fee combined, Wolves will get their £16m back.

Appearance figure isn't a big number so if he does come into form that permanent deal will be triggered fairly quickly.
Cutrone wasn't at the level Nuno had hoped for and, as 13 minutes in the league since Oct 19th shows, he hasn't been a serious part of the picture for a while.

As reported last week, Cutrone struggled to settle in England, the language barrier was an issue with only a couple of Italian speakers at the club. If he'd shown the desire of others to force his way into the XI, i.e. Dendoncker and Traore, it may have been a different story.

Its a paper tiger of an argument to prove a point that we all agree on, that the squad is small and thin on the ground. And it will be worth beating the club with if they don't sort at least some of it by February 1st. At the moment no bugger has any clue what is going on so imagining the worst will happen seems a bit odd just now with 3 weeks to go. Hell, Ruben Dias, Franck Kessie, Dani Olmo, Gedson Fernandes and Joao Cancelo could turn up in the next month for all we know*

*this is unlikely, but I have as much evidence of it as anyone saying no-one will sign and we are dooooooooooooomed.

I'll re-assess at the end of the January affair. I reserve the right to be delighted, concerned, meh, content, or fucking raging.

Nuno wants a small first team squad, with jesus we are a player less. I would say sanderson, otasowie and to a lesser extent kilman are ones for the future and dont count towards the 18-19 nuno wants. That leaves bennet-coady-boly, if we play donk or saiss we only have one backup/roation mid. Donk has been very suspect to me lately as cb, and we really should be looking to improve bennet. I dont see why we cant sign a def and a mid, and a forward once cutrone leaves.

Kilman is very much 1 of the players counts as part of his 1st team. He has been a 1st teamer for 12 months now. He is now the same as MGW

I dont consider mgw a first teamer, more of a backup because we have nobody else yet. I really like kilman but hes too inexperienced to be considered a first teamer just yet imo

You may think that but Nuno doesn't. MGW and Kilman are very much part of the 1st team. Thats not through "oh we have no one else" but because Nuno wants them in his 1st team. He could have sent MGW back to the U23's, he never did and he took Kilman out of the U23's last January and he essentially trained with just the 1st team for months and now is officially part of that group.

Kilman is clearly part of the first team & hasn't looked out of place whenever we have needed to use him.

Still a little unsure about MGW, but has had injuries so still hope for more.

I'd happily start kilman on the left until Boly is back, the game time will do him the world of good and he could be long term successor to Coady

Agreed. I have really liked what I have seen of Kilman so far. There's a talent there.

Kilmans defending looks ok but he’s not the ball-playing, pass-spraying centre half that Nuno looks for in his sides.

There’s a reason we currently have three central midfielders in our back three and it’s not because they’re rapid like Van Dyk or can head and tackle like John Terry.

Always think it's a bit misleading to lump Coady in with that "three midfielders" thing (they do it on the TV all the time).

He's barely played in midfield at all since 2016. For virtually all of Lambert's time he was at RB and then Nuno has played him where he is now for all bar about 20 minutes at Fulham in the Championship.

It's like calling Gareth Bale a left back.

Mgw has shown the square root of fuck all that he is a consistent premier league player pushing to start matches since his one good game v Chelsea. Sorry, for me he needs to do lots , quickly and frequently to stay in the squad.
