January 2017 Transfer Thread

Swapping a housebrick for Gestede would be good business.

I suppose the difference is that while we've had a similar hit/miss rate on summer signings - they paid a load of money for their failures, we didn't.

There's a lot of parallels between us and Villa at the moment albeit they are amplified in claret and blue. The owners have roughly acted in the same way, made the same mistakes and are now rectifying it. I'd rather have Jeff in charge than Crazy Tony but I think both owners are building their squads and teams in a more traditional manner that suits them now.

No comment from the club either way about in comings. Jez would have let us know it was unlikely by now...

Surprised we haven't heard about anyone leaving, tbf.

Surprised Costa is our only bit of business this month

Where have you been that you missed our new signing scoring the winner at Anfield?

I still reckon we'll get Marshall as Blackburn would be daft to risk losing him for free in a few months.

But then again this is the Venkys.

WIll Randall and Tex have both gone today. Wallace, John and Prince have all gone already. That's 5 and seems like a decent amount with only 1 new player in.

Who else are you expecting to leave?

Blackburn have accepted our offer apparently

Breakthrough for @OfficialWolves in pursuit of Ben Marshall. He's on his way for medical & to discuss terms.

Fully expecting that to go through now. Very good addition. Blackburn/Venky's have got previous for dragging deals out to the last minute.

i would be ignoring fee's at this point on Twitter and Sky

For example - Hogan has moved for £9m, £10m, £12m & £15m so far today.

If we have paid £1.5m for him on deadline day when he'd be free in the Summer we are really stupid

The only thing I can think of is that we've secured him now rather than having competition in the summer with signing on fees etc
