Good people of Britain...........PANIC

Storm Eva is on the way, and it appears that Cumbria could again bear the brunt of it.

Storm Eva really isn't going to amount to that much. The ridiculous weather coverage of the Daily Express in the last few weeks has been like the boy who cried wolf.

Still waiting for the coldest December since the ice age the Express promised us all.

Nathan Rao is a complete fucking joke of a journalist. Of course, being married to the daughter of the publisher of the Express means he is still allowed to write his complete shite.

I particularly liked the small sand storm in the air last week being referred to as KILLER BLOOD RAIN.

Fucking pillock.

*checks CD collection furiously*

don't think so. I do have some ACID REIGN though.

From the met office:

Flood-hit areas are braced for further problems with more heavy rain forecast for Christmas night and Boxing Day.
The Met Office issued an amber warning for Cumbria with up to 120mm (4.7in) of rain predicted in some areas.
Alerts have been put in place from north Wales to southern Scotland, with north west England worst affected.
The government's emergency committee Cobra is due to meet on Christmas Day to co-ordinate a response to problems and army personnel are on standby.
Cumbria is still recovering after some areas were hit by flooding three times in less than a month.

That really ISN'T that much. It is just that the ground is saturated.

Up to is also the key word.

Seeing pictures of Whalley in Lancashire. It must be awful for those people who can only watch as the flood water rises.

On seeing the news this morning, I hope all northern wolves (like darlo, aiki and sam) plus leeds, and anyone else I've forgotten or don't know where you live are safe and not affected by some of the news reports in the media.

Thanks for that lj. Fortunately I decided to purchase a house on Beeston Hill (allegedly the very same as used by the10k men of the grand old Duke of York) which means that I am not affected by the flood water. However it is said that it the worst flooding in leeds in living memory.
