Good people of Britain...........PANIC

Brilliant. They don't build forts like they used to do they?

Me fucking greenhouse (I've only had it 5 weeks!) is starting to come apart :argh: Had to run outside with rope & lash some of it together. Too dark to see how bad the damage is.

Really hope it is repairable :(

Hope so LJ. I had the same happen to mine last year, I ended up having to get some new cross members made to strengthen it. It took me about a week to get it completely rebuilt, glazed and painted (cos I used steel instead of aluminium for the repair). Can be done so don't despair if it looks a mess tomorrow.

Calm up here in Aviemore. Dreading my patio when I get back home to Shropshire tomorrow though

Severe weather impacting Arriva Trains Wales services

Following severe wether on Tuesday 17th November, some Arriva Trains Wales routes continue to be affected.

Birmingham International - Birmingham New St- Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury - Aberystwyth / Chester
Following damage caused to overhead power cables in the Coseley area, the line between Birmingham New St and Wolverhampton is closed in both directions. Passengers should use Cross Country and Virgin services which will operate via an alternative route. Where possible, Arriva Trains Wales services will also divert via this alternative route and will not call at Smethwick Galton Bridge. Where this is not possible, services will not run between Wolverhampton and Birmingham International in both directions. Arriva Trains Wales tickets will be accepted on Cross Country, London Midland and Virgin Trais West Coast services and also on local National Express Travel West Midlands services

Just in case people use that route at/through Smethwick.

All East Coast Mainline trains cancelled due to over head line problems in Grantham. Means that St Pancras currently looks like this

Do some crowd surfing. Keep everyone's spirits up...

Just had a lovely storm pass over here, 2 brief power cuts chucked in for good measure.

Time to really panic. Frost and possible snow expected in late November...!

The Daily Express, and especially the so-called journalist Nathan Rao need shooting. They continue to predict armageddon to the point that people just laugh at them. One time they will be right by accident and they will still be ignored.

The journo that cried wolf.

Looks a bit damp underfoot in Cumbria this evening.

Flood defense's have now been breached in some places and some places didn't have em in the 1st place.

The forecast isn't looking that good either for the town's affected.

I agree. Whether it be an impending heatwave or the onset of a mini ice age, the Express does tend to go slightly overboard.

Anyone else think we are slightly over egging things with naming storms? We only started a couple of weeks ago, and we've had D already?

Agreed. I know we have had some very stormy weather recently, but it is hardly been of hurricane levels.

Not really. Autumn storms can roll in pretty regularly. This is absolutely nothing unusual.

Up to 16 inches of rain fell in Thirlmere in the Lake District, the most since records began. Watching the scenes of towns and villages under water, one can only feel for the people who have seen their homes and belongings ruined by the flood waters, I cannot begin to imagine how the people caught up in this flood feel.

Whilst I live about a quarter of a mile from the sea, we are only 8 feet above sea level....
But my thoughts are always with people who have been flooded.
Awful thing to happen.
Down in County Cork 6 years ago they all got badly flooded.
Money for new flood defences was prioritised and this week, they got flooded again. Couldn't get insurance since the last one and the new flood defences?
Still out for tender.
Fucking bastard politicians, dragging their feet whils they fill their pockets.

Did you watch RTE Investigates last night?
