Good people of Britain...........PANIC

The wind is as bad as anything we have had this far inland - wouldn't like to think what the coastal regions are suffering at the moment

I think the worst of the weather is heading towards the midlands. This should be fun.....

The weather has wiped out nearly every match due to be played in Leicestershire this afternoon. Though the rain has stopped, the wind is getting worse.

There's HazelG!
Where've you been mate?
Haven't heard from you for a long time.

I've been lurking from time to time but other priorities had their way over the last year, not least my health. I'm pretty good now but perhaps my browsing and commenting habits have shifted a little.

Lovely sunshine here btw, probably +15C and no wind.

It's been a barmy winter here too!
Temps have got down to -10 with wind chill factors of about -25, which is a rarity in middle Tennessee.
Spring is approaching, forecast shows temps in the low 70's on Wednesday/Thursday this week but that of course comes with severe thunderstorms!

Never under estimate the weather. Two years ago we had a warm late March, a week later heavy snow in the Peak District and elsewhere. The subsequent 6 months was a washout, the Met Office and government policy having suggested otherwise.
Three months ago the Met Office was predicting below average precipitation for December - February
I have no problem with people getting things wrong when trying to understand such a complex chaotic system, I do have a problem with a dogmatic claim to have understood it. Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of energy exchange should know this. Ed Davey's preaching, for example, should not suggest otherwise.
Over reliance on models and political wilfulness rather that empirical measurements and practical mitigation of ever changing environmental effects will only achieve poor outcomes.
David Rose talks sense here:

David Rose has grown credibility since 2010 and rightly challenges the political consensus. As a journalist he is consistent in identifying the weaknesses of the government and the Met Office. He is only a journalist but he is right to champion the better informed as his latest article does.
