The protection in employment law is protection from victimisation because of a public interest disclosure. Likely he was arguing that his departure was in some way related to a disclosure he had made. Whether that disclosure was actually covered by the legislation we wont know unless the nature of the disclosure was made public

Arsenal are too fundamentally weak, Kroenke is too hands off and doesn't invest, the fanbase is disenchanted, the squad is pap with their best player now in his 30s and out of contract in 18 months.
