It'll probably just be Coady or Deslandes. Iorfa will be the cover for CB and Doherty will come in to replace him if needed.

Deslandes might get on the bench I suppose but we don't really need more than one defender on the bench. Hause can cover left back, Iorfa can shift across to centre half, theoretically Doherty can play full back either side (I'd argue he can't play either side, but that's by the by). As noted earlier in the thread Coady played some Academy football at centre half and even Edwards has filled in at right back occasionally. Realistically there aren't many circumstances where you'll want or need to bring on two defenders in one game, so two specialists on there is fine if you have the players but it's not a necessity. We went through a spell last season of having three defenders on the bench which was serious overkill. Around the time when Ken's gamechanging substitution at 0-0 was to swap Iorfa for Doherty.

Ken has paid lip service to him possibly coming back into the fold, but he also did that a week or so before he sent him away to Copenhagen. I'd be surprised if he featured for us again.
