General Wolves News

Hopefully we sign another striker in time for the Europa Qualifiers and we can give him a break before the new season.

Watched the highlights. The opposition keeper would struggle to play in a League 2 side - but as they say, you can only beat what’s in front of you!

Well he will have a break. We won't ask him to come straight to pre-season after the Tournament. He will be off for a couple of weeks once Mexico are knocked out/won it. Same will go for Saiss & MGW, I think Saiss has the latest finishing tournament should they progress.

If we sign Rondon we will have the same issue as he is out there as well. So its sign or Ennis or BAS get bumped up for the Europa League

Just caught the highlights, 3 of Mexico goals came from Rauls shots, not sure if they count as assists! Looked pretty lively, could have had a couple more than the 2 he got

Keeper was woeful, I've seen Tom Bennett have better games in goal

I think if we haven't signed a striker by then (I think we will) it will be either Jota and Cav or a front three with one of those two as a 'false nine' as they did in the Championship at times.

Leo is back, yo.

As for Raul, he'll be fine in the long term. He's had about a month since our last game up to when he'll have joined up with Mexico.

In Europa second round quali you would expect him to be good enough to be honest. If we drew a Roma or a Feyenoord in the play off round (assuming we got there) then we would need Raul for sure.

I feel confident that some new blood is on the way pretty damn soon anyway.

He had a good scoring record for Estoril. Mid/lower Primeira Liga is probably round about the level of most of the teams we can draw.

Just the strikers list to put up then we should have the Manager named :icon_biggrin:

Mate of mine recons we are in for Jean-Phillips Mateta from Mainz.....

Looks like a bit too much of an individual to me - kicks the corner flag before celebrating with the team.... Not sure about that TBH.....

He clearly has PTSD with corner flags (though there were a couple of times he ignored them) - some decent stikes in there, but the videos only show the best bits - no idea how long it took to get that number of goals.

Rafa Mir on the bench for Spain U21 tonight

I've seen him for about 10 minutes vs Forest when we were 2-0 down and just threw all our attackers on...

You never know but I would expect someone with a serious hope of making it here to do better than he did in the Spanish second tier last season.

From the reports last season he spent most of the season being played out wide and when he got put back in his position he started to look decent in a poor team

Six minutes plus injury time, one terrible layoff under no pressure which led to Italy breaking away on a dangerous attack, one header which was at least on target and wasn't a particularly good chance. Game was gone realistically when he came on.

Borja Mayoral was rancid as the starting striker so he might get a bit more of a go later in the group, who knows.

The Jumilla deal has been scrapped.

The Jumilla owner is quoted as saying “With the help of a Premier League team, a team in the Spanish third division got relegated. It’s very bad for both of us.” - Is he having a dig with that first part?
