E&S getting shot down (I bloody told you):

Laurie seems like quite a good lad (I have got to an age when I can call almost anyone that now :icon_biggrin:)

Doubt that they are going anywhere from the current site unless there is really no alternative

Of course they aren't. They said that at the meeting with Mix plus DW. But the E&S weren't there so then pick a quote from a magazine and hang a shit headline on it.

They are a fucking shit rag of a paper now.

People believe what they print though. Next time I pop round my parents house I can guarantee they’ll say “E&S say Wolves are moving from Molineux”

Anyone who believes anything printed in any one newspaper is really not properly informed

Take your info from various sources (if necessary from both extreme ends of the spectrum) & make your own mind up

Indeed. They knew what they were doing this morning, same as they did a couple of weeks ago at the kit launch.

It's a mark of how pissed off the club were with it that they've bothered to slap them down. Normally they just ignore it.

There’s a whole generation out there who don’t use smartphones, the internet or football forums that still rely on newspaper print and have had the E&S delivered like clockwork for the past 30 years.

There's that element and then there's also an element who do use the Internet and STILL trust the E&S over anything else.

Hence me sending out plenty of "no we aren't, it's rubbish" tweets this morning.

I'm probably 'close' to that generation, but still have a smartphone, internet & participation on a football forum - but then again I'm young for my age

Have met others who really aren't much older than I am who aren't though

My grandad would be one of those types. No smartphone or internet, reads the E&S often. He doesn't overly care about football, but now and then he mentions what he read about Wolves in there to me and that is his only source of information.

I could only think of a few places if we did move. None of which are palatable.

The rugby club land at Castleccroft would be big enough but there's no infrastructure there and the residents may get a bit cheesed off their lovely big houses are worth less.

West Park - much like Everton's move across Stanley Park. Probably no chance.

The old Royal Hospital - one of the grim areas in England but there's space. May need police escorts for night games!
Royal hospital is already destined for homes, HCA own the site now since Tesco's redevelopment hit the bricks. Don't think it would even provide any extra space on top of the existing Molineux footprint either and you'd be knocking down a listed building too.

The dixons? Building opposite is listed as well,so that would be in the demolition queue as well, but tbh that whole area would be worse than where we are now,if push comes to shove,we do have a bit of space to move If we had to buy Asda to do it

number of brown belt sites big enough in Wolverhampton near to suitable infrastructure is limited to non existent. Junction 2 of the M54 has mostly been taken up by the i54.

If we want to go batshit mental in terms of size then the only way is buy Asda, build three quarters and then finish off the new South Bank in a hopefully short ground share, just like Spurs.

I would be amazed if it happened though.

Surely if we're building that far back then we can't mess with the existing South Bank. Unless we're petitioning FIFA to allow us to have a pitch five times bigger than anyone else in world football...

Personally I don’t think we need a stadium in excess of 45,000-50,000 which is probably still doable on the current site. Purchase of Asda for extra parking etc.
No doubt we’d fill a ground that size for the big games but playing the other 14 sides in the league I wouldn’t expect us to exceed a crowd of above 35,000 especially if we’ve been in the league a few seasons.

I can't see how buying Asda can be cost effective. We don't need parking as we're a city centre stadium. The transport links are superb and we don't want to be encouraging 10s of thousands of cars onto the Waterloo Road every other weekend. Especially as we've finally taken the decision to close the road on match day.

That wasn't what I meant, at least not quite. You build three-quarters of the ground on the new site while still occupying Molineux and then have a one season share while you flatten the old ground and stick a new South Bank in roughly where the present North Bank is now.

Yeah, I get you. But as soon as we push the button on the South Bank rebuild...it's all over.
