General Wolves News

The Dutch (except Cruyff) and Argentina sorted the numbers by surname and alphabetical order in the 70s. Scotland did in Euro 92 too I think.

If they are planning to leave number 1 vacant for Ikeme then I can sort of see the sense in giving the keepers numbers 11, 21, & 31. Having said that, it would just be weird having a GK wearing number 11. Who was our number 11 anyway?

Personally I don’t think we need a stadium in excess of 45,000-50,000 which is probably still doable on the current site. Purchase of Asda for extra parking etc.
No doubt we’d fill a ground that size for the big games but playing the other 14 sides in the league I wouldn’t expect us to exceed a crowd of above 35,000 especially if we’ve been in the league a few seasons.

I agree.
People should relook at out attendances when we were champions of the world, and it only cost a banana skin and fag end to get in then.

Jordan Graham wasn't it?

Charlton did something like that didn't they when squad numbers were introduced here

Ardiles wearing 1 in the 1982 World Cup was all kinds of wrong.

If memory serves, England also did the alphabetical order thing in 1982 with the exception of Keegan and the keepers, so Trevor Brooking ended up with 3 or something equally silly.

Yep, hence Stuart Balmer wearing 1.

It's taken me 16 years to get over Denis Irwin wearing 8.

I'm not sure you're completely over it...
But I agree, certain positions should have certain numbers. Milan Baros wearing number 5 still fucks with my head. Irwin as mentioned was also odd, but I'll forgive him for the free kick v bradford. I hated akinbiyi's little plus sign (think he was told by the league to remove it?)

They close the Waterloo road match day. Why don't the purchase the houses on the Waterloo road and close it permanently ?

And do what with them? They back onto other houses,do we buy those as well? Plus as others have said its one of the main roads into the centre

Depends if the council want to make the Stafford road bottleneck even bloody worse than it is now, I guess. Not a chance.

Easy...build the road under the stand. Job done.

I've set up a twitter account to tweet out the many manly worthless stats I look up, however thought I'd offer this here as triva question.

There are 6 Wolves players who only managed a single prem goal for us.

Name them.
