General Wolves News

As always they are undisclosed, but thought it was somewhat more than that (£750K +)
No it was £250k which was the release clause in his contract at Sheff Utd. They tried to get him to sign another but he refused and pushed for the move to us.

Fair enough - would be happy just to get that back then, though it is Fulham so £1m seems reasonable!

Man City pull out of EFL trophy too now. Football League release statement saying teams with Cat.1 academies will be appointed in the order they finish in the league pyramid.

By my reckoning we should be in. Only Boro' finished above us in the Championship. Fulham, Blackburn, Bolton and Reading were all below us (amazingly).

Highlights of the 'behind closed doors' game v Shrewsbury

Only 1 fixed camera so not easy to see detail/personnel

Saville assist for the first, direct free kick for the second. Some shocking defending for the goals conceded but then we were playing a YOOF team.

Money goes to the club - as to who can remove it will depend on actual ownership on the day it's received

well not necessarily. given an SPA may already have been signed, even if Morgan owns the club at the time of sale won't mean he gets any more money for the sale just because the club has sold a player.

Steve Morgan can't personally remove any money from the club without looking extremely fucking dodgy (which in turn would probably affect his position at Redrow) as Wolverhampton Wanderers don't owe him or Bridgemere Group a penny.

He can sell it for as much as he likes, of course.

ignoring the specifics of the Wolves ownership chain and mechanic used for cash extraction, the point is once a Sale and Purchase is agreed it will govern any value transfer beyond that point of agreement. so even if SM or one of his companies had a valid cash extraction route, his ability to do anything would be dealt with within an SPA clause (ie in simple terms it wouldn't be allowable or if it were there'd be an equivalent reduction in the sale price).

Tim II

On Saturday's absences - Ikeme shoulder problem but fine, EEL being eased back, Byrne absent for personal reasons, KMac due to Fulham bid.

Any chance we can ease EEL back to League One?

I would imagine the Redrow sponsorship on the shorts and stand were signs of the S&P being agreed.

absolutely. though redrow/wolves could have agreed that independently of any talks, for it to happen in the midst of those takeover talks would strongly suggest it was an agreed condition.

Dave Edwards a guest on SSN this morning.

About to talk about the upcoming Championship Season.

'I'll run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run.'

So the first batch of TV fixtures have been announced and we're on......

NONE of them. :icon_lol:

Sky not interested in us anymore which is good, all that could change for the rest of the season though which is bad.
