Fulham 1-4 Wolves: Verdict Thread

The more you see Raul's miss the more you think he still loves us and didn't want to hurt our feelings
Takes some doing to hit the bar from there mind. Not sure peak Raul would’ve been able to do that with such accuracy 😉

This is one of the reasons we love football. I don't think anyone would think before the game that we'd win relatively comfortably at 4-1!

I do agree. But there’s also very little difference between 8th and 17th in this division. Brentford, Palace, WHU, Everton -all blow hot and cold. Fulham, Forest, Bournemouth all well capable of going winless for 5 or 6 games.

Scandalous if we finish below the 3 promoted teams, none of whom offer much at all.

Really pleased with today because you can see the players like GON. Was never the case with Lage, or Lopetegui. I like this team a lot. Please can we have a centre back Jeff???

Absolutely. There's nothing flash in there today but he just breaks up play and keeps the ball effortlessly. You don't have to be Paul Ince bawling at your team mates and throwing in pointless slide tackles.

Ridiculous really that we've had him sat on the bench at all.
Andre and Gomes is the pair we should be persisting with there. Lemina to cover either (suspensions/rotation) or to become the third midfielder if we change shape. We shouldn’t be trying to accommodate Lemina just because he’s captain.
That said, Lemina played very well also today and I think always does when he’s holding (either in midfield or at the back today). That attacking RM role doesn’t suit him or our shape when he’s played there. Semedo is too exposed.

A shaky start with Fulham in control for the opening 25 minutes but I'd suggest the turning point wasn't Raul's miss but Cunha's equalizer. It was a moment of brilliance from both Lemina and Cunha. It seemed to shell shock the Londoners and they never really seemed to recover. They huffed and puffed alright but didn't really look like they could grab the game and take it away from us.

It wasn't surprising to see us on the back foot to start with as the players had to adjust to the positions they were asked to play. It was good to see Rodrigo back in the team but he didn't have the best of starts although he gained confidence and got better as the game progressed.

Joao had a good game and did his usual hustle and bustle but undoubtedly the star of the show was Cunha who has such a deft touch. I'm also going to give Nelson, Lemina and Toti a lot of kudos today as they all took responsibility and gave solid performances. Now for Ait-Nouri.... their goal.... (aided and abetted by Rodrigo).... but then he makes amends with some sublime runs and caused problems.

My only down spot was Larsen who met more than his match today as he was bossed by Bassey. Hopefully he learns from it.

Whaddya mean? lemina is our new CB!

When Lage played Neves CB you could how much the rest of the team hated it. Results have been shite this season so far, but the only peep about GON has been from ex-teammates calling him a dour bastard.
As I said a week or two ago, there's nowhere near the level of hate (for me) towards O'Neil as there was with other managers. I don't think he's a bad guy and I do think the players like him. We do also have that kind of performance in our locker.

If we'd carried on bumbling along at about 0.2PPG then he simply would have to go, I'd rather not change the manager because I don't trust our wanker of a chairman (now I DO hate him) to recruit a replacement properly, and it would also mean we're in mortal danger of going down.

Lage, Hoddle, Saunders, McGhee, even Lambert to a point, these were all utter tossers who I could not abide (Zenga exists in his own bubble, where it's like a fever dream). O'Neil might not be good enough in the long run and he's made a lot of mistakes over the last 9 months but it's not the same category.

Slightly different note. Did we all see the guy with a little A3 paper sign that read Come On Fulham? Back to League One where your minute, tin pot club belongs. And take Brentford and Bournemouth along too please.

Larsebln was excellent today, afforded Cunha loads of space, occupied their defenders, got an assist.

Wait and see how differently Cunha plays if Larsen isn't playing.

Players love him and Cunha looks a different player under his management. Everyone looked shit under Lage bar Kilman strangely.

Great win and from extended highlights, we looked decent.

Hopefully it’s abit of a turning point. I don’t think people want GoN to go just for the sake of it. As DW mentioned 0.2ppg is just unsustainable.

The next 5 fixtures are massive. Not just because they’re the so called ‘easy’ fixtures, but also will give us momentum going into a difficult run again.

Nothing against GoN. I hope he proves to be good enough as that will mean we’re doing well. Also as people have mentioned he’s not exactly a class a W*nker, personally likeable if not abit naive.

The next few games will show a lot.
