Crystal Palace Build Up & Match Thread

Fucking shit. That was awful. On a par if bit worse than Huddersfield etc.

How can we play so bad after such good performances

For the most part that was even IMO but the way we completely fell off the boil after the 80th minute is really irritating.

Don't be so negative.

Beating Spurs counts for nothing if it's followed by crap like that. That was beyond awful

In a way it's a good thing it highlights our weaknesses yet again despite those that would argue otherwise. The goals conceded aren't the issue for me it's the fact we created nothing apart from a long range shot from Neves in 90 mins.

I am sure Nuno already realises this and is working on it but we maybe need a few on board or a different strategy for games like this.

Until then we won't do as well against teams that sit and counter.

Palace fully deserved win easily the better side.

I don't think it was that bad, but we do struggle against teams who sit deep and we don't play with enough energy or intensity. We need to step up the pace and put these teams under more pressure

Another disappointing performance against a distinctly average team. You can say what you like, but there is an issue in this team of not playing well against average/poor teams. We just don't raise the level of our play to anywhere close to what it is like against the top teams.

We will go and knock Liverpool out of the cup now!

Ridiculous inconsistency.

Can't crow about how good we are against the big six when Watford palace Huddersfield come here and all deservedly win 2 0.
Off to bed. Nothing to debate. Looked crap, were crap

You cant say things like that, the super fans will be on here to berate you. We were just unlucky/tired dont you know...

Piss weak game, move on, won't matter in May

Of course it'll matter in May. Exactly the same as the defeat to Huddersfield will matter in May. We're obviously not going to get relegated but we are capable of finishing 7th/8th and we are throwing it away with performances like tonight

Verdict thread is open...

Saying beating Spurs doesn't count for nothing is horseshit. We have a formula that has worked against the better sides. We are yet to concoct a formula for those that sit deeper.

The Spurs win was amazing, this is very dissapointing but not that surprising.

We are luckily very healthy on points and have the opportunity to add a few players to improve things.

I am sure this area will improve and as much as it was painful to watch it only forces the issue.

Yeah but it's not a problem, it's never happened before, it's a one off, . It isnt. We knew what palace would do, they did it they won we had no answer. Palace are really not that hard to work out. Easy night for them

This. Level of intensity isn't there and we don't seem to have the nouse to be able to unlock these teams that sit.

We do lack something when we play 'smaller' teams
We play shit passes, lose possession easily and look disjointed.
Just hope Jota is back soon

The phrase 'Big Time Charlies' comes to mind.
It's hard to understand how we can take points off Arsenal, City, Utd, Spurs and lose to Cardiff, Huddersfield, Watford, Palace.

Having just seen a replay that's an awful goal to concede, Ayew left in space without anyone close to him. Similar to Murray for Brighton.

We have to be smarter in defence and not give space to players in our box. Coady & Boly could both have been yards nearer to Ayew

There definitely seems like a level of complacency creeps in against 'lesser' opponents.
