Agree - just please stop doing it!!

Went in to Morrisons about half an hour after Johnson's announcements.

Huzzah - there was some food, and things are beginning to calm.

The alcohol aisle was getting absolutely fucking decimated.

That is heartbreaking.

Just been to the shop to get milk - usually get 2 bottles, but only got one as I didn’t want to look like a twat.

Fucking young dimwits just being interviewed in London by Sky News:
"yeah, think it's the right thing to do, closing pubs" - whilst standing there drinking in a pub...

A lot of the younger generation (not all as don't want to generalise) still don't believe that this will affect them badly so aren't as bothered - they all have older relatives who this could be a death sentance for.

I'm still done as far as I can work out. No help to sole traders.

The club I work in has stayed open (until tonight obvs). It's not just been the young people, but over 70s have continued to come in for lunch, people "WFH" have come in with their laptops, plus so many others. Not as busy as a normal week, buy still making money. This shutdown was long awaited, but I'll still have to come in, albeit for reduced hours, to sell takeaways. The number of people that just don't or won't acknowledge that this is serious is ridiculous.
Fortunately Rishi's announcement should mean I still have a job when this plays out, the Committee had said they could only retain us for two months otherwise, but it's crazy how people aren't taking this seriously, that hand sanitiser gives you cancer so don't use it, that if people feel okay they should be allowed to carry on. Madness.
Sorry, rant over. Disappointed more wasn't done for self employed. There is a curse: they say may you live in "interesting" times...

Not saying its ideal but on the radio on the way home tonight they were saying supermarkets are recruiting thousands of extra staff on 3 month contracts

Particularly as the Government has nudged/forced many of us down this road for the last decade.

Oh well, if I starve to death then you know who I'll blame with my final words.

Not a chance in hell I could do that I'm afraid. I wouldn't last two days.

Just a thought, know what you mean, not sure I could deal with the general public especially the hoarding bastards

As much as I hate the general public, the issue is that I'm not well enough. If you ask me if I'll be in tomorrow the answer will always be "I don't know". I'm in this position out of necessity more than anything. You can't put me on any kind of rota or shift pattern. I can't commit between now and 9am tomorrow, let alone days, weeks, months in advance. I take on projects that I know I can handle over a period of time and I work when I'm well enough to do so.

We're just being cast aside now which is great.

Surely worth getting the UC though. £94 p/w is better than nowt if you have zero work coming in. I know it fixes about 10% of your issues but it is something.

Had a 'discussion' with someone coming out of Aldi 2 days ago with an overstacked trolley & asked if he had a very large family (as he only looked 35 probably wasn't likely).

Could have got interesting, but no fisticuffs involved - he was an absolute pillock though.

It's complex, I'd have to de-register from where I am now and then sign up to that, and it's not something I really want to be on as it's totally fucked up for the self-employed. A nonsense of a system.

I'm a bit lost to be honest. I'm glad I saved responsibly over the last 18 months or so which means I'm not destitute but I keep going through the numbers and it's fucked.

I think the hoarders have been called out so much now that they may start getting twatted on supermarket car parks or in the aisles.

Good.

Fucking cunts deserve it.
