Coronavirus

I bet you have nightmares about that!!

Part of me does I suppose.

But this is a time when we all need to act a bit fucking adult. I can go without a drink. Sure - I will be miserable, but I will hopefully still be alive. I'll take that.

People have to be realistic and face the fact that there are millions in the U.K. all making sure they have supplies for 7 to 14 days. That’s a fact. Those morons buying a years worth of bog roll are the first on the hit list .

What annoys me is the fact that it is apparently almost impossible to get a freezer as the fuckwits have been buying them to store their stash in.

The service/leisure industry is facing a complete realignment due to the fact service provider and customer cannot be brought together. If home entertainment is the growth industry then you will see different people making the money, so in effect the same money is circulating but in different directions. Netflix sales will boom but cinema receipts will be down, Supermarket receipts will boom but restaurant will be down etc. Maybe the short term strategy is diversification.

I suspect much schooling can be done online as evidenced by the Open University. It's the phenomena that tells us SKY money is more important to WWFC than paying supporters. This virus is a game changer in many ways and things will just not be the same again.

Couple of things I am noticing from the last week

1) People now seem to very aware that benefits are not the provider to an easy life despite what the Daiky Mail and Channel 5 tell them. In fact more people are questioning how the hell are you meant to survive on that.

2) A lot of people dont understand what self employed people pay. So many comments that they should pay Tax and NI then the Government would help them!

Some interesting papers around the effect of vitamin C on the more serious cases of Coronavirus

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04264533

And

https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/11/4/708

Now this isn't medical advice by any means but there are also papers out there suggesting probiotics and zinc can help with the more serious cases.

At this point I think it's safe to say eating a balanced diet would be no bad thing to do!

Nothing on e&s but national papers are linking the spike round here and a few deaths to one church congregation.

Stock up on fuck all should be the advice

I make exception to beer. I’ve just brought £50 worth of stock from a local brewery to try and help them stay in business.

Churches usually have quite an aged congregation so I guess it’s possible. I really hope they are all closed tomorrow.

Thoughts and prayers obviously not working then, who'd have known?

There won’t be any left at the rate they’re being burnt down.

Our training for new hires takes 4 weeks and we have had all start dates for them put back to April 13th, but this week we have told to start planning to deliver all trainings virtually.

So, if the next Training date is April 13th and we are going to be delivering it virtually for 4 weeks, work are obviously planning for us to be working from home until at least mid-May.....

I think most business are simply expecting nothing to change until the beginning of June at the earliest. My lad works part time for Ikea in Cardiff and they are closed, he is getting full pay for 8 weeks then they will review the situation.

Was told that a local shop had put out 3 pallets of bog roll at 10 this morning and restricting it to 1 per customer.
Got there at just after 11 and it was all gone! People had been turning up by the car full and buying "1 each" and going through separate tills... Absolute cunts, I mean, get a fucking grip!

Remember the good old days when we were told this Country survived 2 World Wars so we can handle anything? Yeah, fair to say this generation would shit their pants and kill their neighbours for a Jaffa Cake if we actually had a physical War in our Country

Turns out it's the first generation after the war generation that are stockpiling. Who knew they'd be the biggest bellends of all.

No correlation with those who voted Brexit either...apparently.

Not sure thats entirely true, seen plenty of under 40's with overloaded trollies and 3 kids with a trolley load each going through different checkouts. Also my 70 year old mate was at Sainsburys 'silver hour' there were loads who looked remarkably fit and youthful.....don't think age has too much bearing on how cuntish you are

There definitely have been cases of people charging the elderly hour as the shops are struggling to keep them out. Appalling behaviour.

Morrisons had reasonable stock today (bar the booze aisle which had suffered a plague of locusts for some reason). There were even a couple of packs of bog roll (at least briefly).

I am going to use this as the incentive to go to more of the local suppliers. There is a tremendous butcher on Pendeford Avenue, and I don't mind paying a little bit extra for giving him the business for excellent quality product.
