Coronavirus

Over the last week I've doing shopping for half a dozen 'olds' after my Mom pimped me out to her mates. Two of the cheeky fuckers have asked if I can mow their lawns (not a euphemism).

Just spit mi coffee out.

Is greggs a restaurant, i know this is a bit like a cake / biscuit question.
Wonder how many sit in eateries will now suddenly offer takeaway food.

Edit.
Oops didnt see Marks question.

Govt paying 80% of wages of employed staff laid off. Good news for those in the service industry but blurred lines if you are one of the hundreds of thousands employed by agencies and on zero-hour contracts. Bit sketchy for the SE.

Higher % than I thought they would - there will still be a few employers who get rid of staff rather than pay the 20%, but hopefully most are still there when we come out of this.

Now what about the self employed - one of my sons has had limited business coming in for the last 2 weeks & has £5000 per month expenses to cover. Just about getting through for now but for how long?

So if you were unemployed prior to the virus you get a raise but if you are self employed and seen your receipts nosedive you are expected to claim universal benefit. Something not quite right about all of this. It is a corporate bail-out for companies like BA but a smack on the arse for those employed by agencies on zero hour contracts.

Just had an email from Virgin (my mobile provider) for one month ( may be extended) they've given me unlimited calls and an extra 10 GB data, I'm unlikely to use it personally but hopefully others will find it helpful

Now is the time to super tax the supermarkets who are creaming it off and put HS2 to bed. No help for those who need to pay their rent - sorry to be cyncial but it is nothing more than a Corporate Charter to survive a semi-lockdown and safeguard the stocks. I'm assuming any claim for UB comes with help for rent etc etc

I have been informed that it isn't just North Middlesex hospital that is about to fall apart in A&E and ICU. Birmingham is really struggling - badly.

Looks like Squeeze is about to be called back into the front line of the NHS despite being in the vulnerable group. That makes me shit bricks about the health risk to the woman I love.

New Cross is also in a lot of trouble. We are in a hot spot, and this is getting really serious.

I will reply to this one! Sorry I was super gnarly yesterday.

HS2 really has to be put in the cooler for at least the medium term. The economy has a lot more serious priorities right about now. A super tax on the super markets - I am unsure about that just yet. I think a BIG thing would be a government order to make sure that prices do not rise because of the usual supply and demand economic idea.

The 80% wage thing may help with private renters I suppose. It's not entirely clear though is it?

Calling back recently left NHS staff (if they are willing) should have been done weeks ago - not all will be ready to go straight into action

That's awful Paddy. I know having a partner with asthma during these times is really frightening. Having Squeeze being sent back to work must be terrifying.

Thinking of you both.

Most recently left nurses will be willing from what I can see. It's a certain mentality to want to be a nurse in the first place, and those persons with that mentality will want to do anything they can to help.

At least shutting the pubs will stop crews having to go out to arseholes all night long, who end up in A&E.

Was talk of some basic training and lots of paperwork to be completed first but i think these new laws will fast track that.
Did i miss any cuts in energy prices for those stuck at home?

It gets worse, I've got to take my own fucking mower to one of them!

It'll be so funny if you found out it wasn't a euphemism , turn up at the first house and there's an 80 year old clunge staring at you and your flymo :)

80% up to a max of £2.5k/month.

Unless you have a mammoth mortgage (and can get relief on that anyway & you have only got that because you earn a shed load more) - 80% of £2,500 pm should keep the wolf from the door
