Coronavirus

No new cases in Hubei outside Wuhan today.

Premier League considering banning over 70s from attending games.

Does that include Roy Hodgson?

Tha's just bloody stupid. How are they going to police it? They should simply advise. If anyone wants to take the risk, it's literally their funeral.

Also you're fine if you're 69 years and 362 days old to go this weekend, but forget it next week old boy, sorry and all that.

I've got less than 3 weeks left then! - better make the best use of them.

No way of policing it anyway - don't carry anything official with your DOB on it & whilst they will be able to tell that I'm over 65 as I have a concession ticket they can't prove by how much.

I'm an adult & capable of making my own decisions as to risk

Fit, healthy 70 year old, nopre sorry mate. 69 year old with COPD, come on in no problem.

For some reason we allow stupid people to make decisions.

Averages - there are 70 yr olds & 70 yr olds - we are not all the same

Of course not, but where do you draw the line?

If statistics prove that a particular group is more vulnerable it makes sense to try to protect them.

For me this feels like an attempt to prevent games being played behind closed doors. People may still have contact with vulnerable groups but that decision is then down to the individual and how / who they interact with.

Also remember the govt. has asked the premier league to act and do something

Where do you draw the line? Exactly, you don’t use arbitrary numbers.

70 is a lot different to 79, literally like 12% difference, and that 12% is a lot more significant than the gaps between the other demographics. Plus, a fit 70 year year old will very likely be fine, a 69 year old with COPD has an increased chance of dying. It’s not the age that is the issue, that is just the confounding factor with underlying condition and compromised immune system.

You can’t really tell people what they can and can’t do, you can only advise them.

As said before I am an adult and capable of assessing risk to myself (wouldn't have got this far unless I could) - if I had a medical condition that makes me more vulnerable then I would take different decisions than I do now (I haven't so my decisions are based on that).

They have no way of proving it anyway as never carry any card/ID to the match as really don't want any more than the minimum to have to freeze & replace than necessary (though would still be able to get in for the next 19 days & I doubt I will be any more vulnerable 1 day after that time)

Nasty business.

Cannot see how it can be stopped - in much the same way influenza and the common cold are prevalent certain times of the year. Time to be responsible, look out for the vulnerable and ride the storm. It amazes me how people need to be told they have to wash their hands, cough into tissues etc. Fascinating to watch how the markets seem to fuck up and they all run around with their heads in their hands but it's all a bit shitty if peoples pensions etc are tied up in this.

What about goal celebrations, they touch then.

Banning mass gatherings is a bit pointless imo, somewhere somehow we come into contact with masses of people. Just as much when gathering in the pub to watch it as gathering in the open air stadiums.

I am more likely to get it in the close confines of the air conditioned Civic Centre where I spend my days than at Molineux and Molineux is far more enjoyable too.

Or the Tube, but Kahn is adamant he aint shutting that down, only the 2 million a day using it.
If there's one place i wouldn't be going at the moment.. its on the tube.

No tube travel and Londinium goes into meltdown. It's a shame people can't transport like they did on Rentaghost.

8 year old daughter still on the tail end of influenza A (tested). Do I send her back in to the thick of things with the usual cold at the end or ride it out until she's fully 100% recovered? If she's still got a temperature however slight I'm not going to roll the dice

Pretty much everyone: Towns locked down, schools closed and large events cancelled.

UK: Postpone the Bond film.

Oh i agree but you cant be cancelling gigs and football matches etc but leave the most confined, populated place in the country open.....makes no sense.
