Coronavirus

Depends on how the centres handle walk ins. I had an appointment, but everyone got lumped into the same queue. Only an hour in and out, but mildly annoying when they make a point of you not turning up early to reduce people standing queuing.

Just a heads up to y'all, just received the above text message. Looked a bit fishy, and some investigation shows that it is indeed a scam.

They aren't considerably lower, if they are lower at all;

70 + 72.9 + 72.6 + 68.1 = 283.6... Divided by 4 = 70.9.
They can't even do basic math on that site

Some twat constantly sniffing (and not in a Colombian way) right behind us on the train. Don't travel if you're ill, dickhead.

Bit of irony - based on the timeline, I think I must have caught the 'rona when getting a booster on Saturday morning. It's the only "social" thing that lines up with symptoms appearing yesterday (especially since omicron supposedly manifests a bit quicker than the traditional ~5 day window). Thankfully I feel fine apart from a tickly throat, and isolation will end on the 23rd so touch wood it doesn't mess with Christmas...

Interesting thing I've found today is that there's essentially no information about what happens if you catch it and get your vaccination at, or close to, the same time. I was floored all weekend, up until Sunday evening, by the side effects. Pfizer, after having AZ for my first two doses. Waves of intense nausea every time I ate or drank anything, on top of fatigue. Then woke up Monday morning fresh as a daisy, bar an annoyingly dry throat. I wonder if getting infected accentuated the side effects? Or, conversely, if getting the vaccine accelerated how soon I was displaying symptoms?

Trying to find a pop up centre for a relative who isn't online.

Lives in Woking - a town of approx 120,000 - nearest ones are Surbiton or Kingston & she doesn't drive! There is a rail link to Surbiton, but the clinic is really not that near to it.

sounds like some schools have so many cases they may need to close.
theatres cancelling performances due to covid etc.

Parliament seems to be riddled with the virus as they are dropping like flies this afternoon.

Alex the not so doesn't seemed too concerned as he holds a Christmas Party / Gathering / Quiz / Please be nice to me / Super Spreader event with the 1922 Committee.

BREAKING: MPs have voted in favour of making face coverings mandatory in most indoor spaces in England.

The vote passed with 441 votes in favour and 41 against.

Follow the votes: trib.al/JKmYYYD

My knob of an MP has voted against all the measures tonight. This is the first I’ve ever seen him vote against the government, normally he just does what he’s told.

He’s quite happy to vote through a load of appalling policies but draws the line at wearing a face mask during a pandemic apparently.

In fairness they’re voting on a point of principle as individual liberty and freedom of speech are so very important to them. That’s why they’re all opposing the even more extreme proposals on identity cards being a requirement for voting in a general election.

Oh, hang on, what’s that?

Scum.

Don't say that you'll upset David Webb in his very big house in the country

Very worrying times we're living in.

All through the ages, intolerance, discrimination and persecution have been driven by two factors. One is fear. The other is a sense of unquestioned superiority – moral superiority and superiority in numbers. Both of these preconditions are now fully activated.

This week we received a Letter to the Editor from a Sechelt gentleman directed towards “protesters and vaccine holdouts,” reminding them that they “chose to be second-class citizens,” a term formerly reserved for convicted criminals.

“You are now a facilitator of sickness and death, the 21st century equivalent of the plague-spreading rats responsible for the Black Death of the 14th century,” he wrote.

His text file was titled “21st century rats.”
