Coronavirus

I think Ikeme represents a vast proportion of the population who no longer trust politicians. I don't think they're able to separate the message from the man delivering it.

Have to be honest guys and say my head is completely fried over this. To the extent I’m not even sure where I stand anymore.

I’m very much pro-vaccine, but against vaccine passports and terrified of the ramifications of compulsory vaccines (which to be fair, don’t believe would ever happen in the U.K.).

I’m also tired, can completely understand those that have simply had enough, who want to stick two fingers up to the lying, double-standard charlatans making things up as they go along.

But I naturally have loyalty to my wife. The NHS are holding this shit together and I’m honestly seeing cracks appearing that I’m worried about. This next wave is coming against a backdrop of public apathy and NHS exhaustion. It’s a perfect storm.

I don’t even know the point I’m making to be perfectly honest. Sometimes you just need to sound off.

Whatever happens, it’s worrying times.

This is why it needs a reset. The message is lost as those that have made huge sacrifices, be it NHS staff, people not seeing dying relatives, ruined Christmases, mental health issues have seen those making the rules flaunt them as if they are above them. Whether there's any realistic hope of a change having any effect I don't know but too many people aren't listening for measures to make much impact. If Omicron results is anything but mild infection in the vast majority of cases the NHS will be facing a nightmare and they know it. I can see why so many people feel helpless and it is both depressing and infuriating in equal measure.

Our surgery like many has gone into meltdown over this and are not taking appointment over this. Apparently when the bungling idiot decided to post a video media involvement who could perhaps clear some of this no one got the memo. He literally farted that out a video last night and the shit has hit the fan creating absolute chaos.

I couldn't go and get my booster on Saturday in the end as my son was unwell, it's booked in for tomorrow at 5pm now.

I'm dreading it a bit, my wife's sister feels terrible after having it and I've just been speaking to a bloke who I used to work with who's told me one of my old colleagues had to have two days off work it made her feel so ill and she's not the type to have time off.

Heard of a few people who it's knocked about, I was going to book mine in for this week but I've just had a week and half off work ill and still feel shit so it can wait.

I felt a bit rough after the first one, nothing for the second, hopefully that trend continues.

I had 24 hours of feeling like I was dying after the first one. Just a little bit shit after the second. If I felt OK I'd be booking my third now but I don't want to risk feeling even more shit than I do at the moment, I can't have any more time off work.

Weird how it affects people so differently, my in laws have practically every risk factor health condition you could imagine and neither of them have felt any effect whatsoever after all three.

I expect that the reason I struggled with the booster is that it was my first dose of anything mRNA based.

Also remember there being the theory that those who have had less intense reactions likely were infected (knowingly or not) by the virus at some point. No idea if that's based in anything legitimate but it sounds plausible to me.

Certainly appears to be the case that Moderna will mess you up more than Pfizer.
