Coronavirus

Supposedly everyone there was either double vaxxed or had a recent negative test. Though supposedly, everyone had a ticket...

Clubs shouldn't be the ones carrying out the decision making for the Government though. Whatever the clubs decide to do, they will piss off a section of their fanbase
Not Looking forward to seeing when a poor steward gets a torrent of abuse for telling a few young lads to mask up.

leave it at recommended & let people make there own choices.

I wonder how they will police the covid passport thing, pre match via a website, or at the turnstile on entry? The former will be open to abuse, the latter will lead to queues for the Steve Bull stretching up through the subway!

There was a cordon round the stadium before the Utd game checks by stewards before you got entry to the grounds and then the turnstiles.

The stewards will grab you by the bollocks and ask you to cough when they search you

Which i'm sure worked quite well with 4000 fans, with 8 times that it might be more problematic!

I wonder what they will do about U18s who aren't vaccinated? Just let them in i guess?

It's so shit of government to leave this to the clubs, no idea why i'm surprised, i thought they'd finally show a bit more responsibility.

The only workable way would be to do it online.

Agreed, but that would be easy to cheat when double jabbed people hand other non vaccinated people their ticket...but i suppose it doesn't really matter if the majority are double jabbed.

Forgive me for asking, but how come the last games of the Premier League season masks were required in grounds, but I saw very little of them being worn at Wembley during the Euros?
Man u game you were supposed to wear a mask, but once in the stadium few did - I was at least 3 metres away from anyone else.

At the MU game had to prove my identity to match my ticket, though they were individually named.

Was only 4000 though & they are not going to be able to do that with a full crowd. One of the reasons I'm still debating whether to renew.

Sudden spike in positives at our place, five in two days now.

This might be some sort of locality bias as I am under the Covid cloud at the moment, but anecdotally more people seem to have it or having to isolate because of it than i remember through any other period since the pandemic started?

There was a 10ish car queue at the test centre yesterday in Redditch too, not sure how bad it is normally as never been before.

Yeah definitely. It looks like it stems from one lad who was going to the England games (had to sell his ticket for the final after testing positive), the bloke he gives a lift to has tested positive and that bloke rents a house with another from our place and he's got it too. Then there are two that work together in another department have both got it. Actually make it six as someone in dispatch has it as well. That's more in a week than in the previous 18 months.

Sadiq Khan fanning the flanes by making Face coverings mandatory on all TFL services & by the sounds of it Andy Burnham is going the same way in Greater Manchester.

Completely understand masks for the underground. I would back masks being mandatory on public transport for a while longer as well.

As a coach/ bus driver, I have zero backing for it. It’s causing uneeded stress & aggrovation for the drivers.

Keep it recommended & not mandatory that way it becomes about the person not the company or driver.

and if the person is an areshole?

I can genuniely see it from both sides

Surely it's the governments job to decide what is best for us as a whole? Is an individual really the best person to decide what is best for wider society? The government is in a position where they can call on the advise of the best scientific minds in the country, the average joe has to try to their own research.
