Coronavirus

Some (anecdotal) reports that ICUs are full again. All covid.
And all, I suspect, bollocks of the 'seen in Asda' variety. As LW implies, data are available for every individual trust on the PHE website, so where are these apocalyptic scenes to be found? My missus is forever coming home with 'Karen at work says ...' horror stories. Does my fuckin head in.

It was just a couple of tweets from ICU staff - can't find them now. Like I said, anecdotal.

The 2nd Moderna vaccine floored me. Missed most of the England game because I was massively fatigued. Woke up this morning at 6am feeling like I had the worst hangover I’ve ever experienced (havent drank any alcohol in 2 weeks) but was fine by 10.30…

short term pain long term gain.

Setting it up for "well its your own fault"

Masks - Bin 'em mate but maybe wear them
Work from Home - GET BACK IN THE OFFICE but probably better you work from home a bit
Covid Passports - No need for them but maybe businesses should use them. No way are we losing popularity points by insisting on them but you can lose your business if make the wrong choice.

Its never their fault and no-one seems to care about the lies 🤷‍♂️

They're doing their best la and Boris is a new father and he nearly died, you know.

This is why I want them to show the data they're using, because they're so full of shit.

"Irreversible" sounds like another sound bite in no way ground in reality.

Pragmatically, of course you would expect restrictions to be re-introduced if things go south. Dunno why he didn't just say that.

Exactly, it's a ridiculous promise.

"Al, 1,000 people a day are dying again. What are we going to do?"

"Well we can't do anything. I said irreversible, remember"

He's an idiot.

Add checking into places using the App - No longer a requirement but businesses should leave the QR codes up incase people want to check in.

I deleted the app within two days of downloading it last year. It’s a bucket of shite.
As it was a requirement to go in some places, it did its job (and where it didn't they just took details anyways)

Point here is, they want to continue doing track and trace but remove all requirements for us to do it. Makes little sense, as with all the other stuff if you *think" we should be doing these things then make us. Don't give fluffy guidelines, as you tried that at the beginning of the pandemic and it didn't work

I gave my home phone number. No problem with that. I don’t want a situation like two blokes at work had. Went to the pub for the semi final and someone in there has tested positive so presumably everyone in that pub with the app has got pinged. Boss not happy and reminding everyone self isolation is SSP. Fuck that so the app gets in the sea.

It shouldn't matter in pubs. I was in the Litten on Saturday for a couple of hours but the only person who could possibly make my phone ping is Mrs DW, the other tables were miles away, the staff were never close enough for long enough when they brought our stuff. And if she's got it, I'd have it, fairly obviously.

Unless they've totally borked the settings on the app. Someone walking past me for 0.1 seconds should not matter.

My mate deleted his app after it pinged him because his next door neighbour was isolating and it recognised him through the walls of their house.

Don't think everyone gets pinged. The signals between phones have to be in contact for a set amount of time.
Actually think the contact sheet where they write details could create more because if they are told someone tested positive and they were in the pub between, lets say, 7pm and 10pm then they have to contact everyone who left their details in that period.

Thats just unlucky!! Apart from deleting, just popping bluetooth off at home would sort that issue out I guess

Would have to pretty shit walls too - Bluetooth is very poor at penetrating proper walls. They’d need to be very thin and the phones as close as possible.

But all that nonsense shows why it’s a completely crap concept unless you pay those pinged their full wage to self isolate. Otherwise people bin the app as they simply can’t afford to be pinged.

Yeah I said that too. Probably sat back to back on the sofa in their front rooms.
