Coronavirus

But all that nonsense shows why it’s a completely crap concept unless you pay those pinged their full wage to self isolate. Otherwise people bin the app as they simply can’t afford to be pinged.
but if you visit a pub and they call you do you a) ignore it or b) risk infecting a factory full?

Is your bosses stance the norm or is he just being a bit of a tit about it?

I won’t get pinged as I binned the app right at the start. If there was full pay for self isolating I would have the app and obey it. But that should be government backed. Starmer has asked for it for months.

but if you are leaving your telephone number at the pub/restuarant you could get a call from the pub to tell you there is chance you were in contact with a person with Covid. A manual ping if you will.
That was my question really, what do you do? You can't afford to take time off but at the same time you are risking creating a factory outbreak. From the time someone went to work for 3 days with Covid at the wifes place of work, the spread of the virus could have wiped all their staff out for 2 weeks but they got lucky. So do you do the morally correct thing and say you were called or ignore it and keep everything crossed.

Obviously from Monday its not an issue anyway as you are no longer [fluffyguideline]BUT YOU REALLY SHOULD[/fluffyguideline]have to leave any details at all

Stuff like this is winding me right up

nightclubs and other venues with large crowds will be encouraged to use Covid status certification - so-called domestic vaccine passports - "as a matter of social responsibility", the prime minister said.

Make it a legal requirement then you fucking tool. If it is a social responsibility then there is something in the predicted numbers that is spooking people, so be open about it.

This guidance will come into effect when England moves to step 4 of the roadmap. Read the current step 3 guidance on what you can and cannot do. While cases are high and rising, everybody needs to continue to act carefully and remain cautious. This is why we are keeping in place key protections:

  • testing when you have symptoms and targeted asymptomatic testing in education, high risk workplaces and to help people manage their personal risk.
  • isolating when positive or when contacted by NHS Test and Trace.
  • border quarantine: for all arriving from red list countries and for those people not fully vaccinated arriving from amber list countries.
  • cautious guidance for individuals, businesses and the vulnerable whilst prevalence is high including:
    • whilst Government is no longer instructing people to work from home if they can, Government would expect and recommend a gradual return over the summer
    • Government expects and recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas such as public transport;
    • being outside or letting fresh air in
    • minimising the number, proximity and duration of social contacts.
    • encouraging and supporting businesses and large events to use the NHS COVID Pass in high risk settings. The Government will work with organisations where people are likely to be in close proximity to others outside their household to encourage the use of this. If sufficient measures are not taken to limit infection, the Government will consider mandating certification in certain venues at a later date.

Do whatever the fuck you want people

Do whatever the fuck you want people
but it's your fault if we have got this wrong

For the record I am delighted restrictions are being lifted but not delighted with the language used by the Government.

Entirely my plan

My daughter has tested positive for covid today (tested yesterday). So we are all in isolation for 10 days, i was all set to go to Ibiza on Sunday. The timing is frustrating to say the least, 18 months without any of the 4 of us (my wife, me, my 8 and 4 year old daughters) having it, and then as we hit the last week of restrictions it sneaks up on us.

Oh well, it is what it is.

My daughter is fine by the way, no symptoms at all, we only tested her because our nephew has covid and she was with him very briefly last Thursday.

sorry to hear that EP, but glad to hear your daughter isn't experiencing any ill health at the mo. Hope it stays that way!

So, Sandra's troubles go on. Yesterday she was told she has to isolate for 10 days because the woman in the hospital bed next to her has tested positive for Covid! (They immediately removed the woman from the Ward)
She will probably be released this evening but then can't leave the house until the 23rd

Sounds like vaccine passports and masks for matches. Fucking hellfire.
by the sounds of it again going down the "we suggest" " we urge" "Social responsibility" blah blah so we can blame you in the coming months rather than into law

Clubs shouldn't be the ones carrying out the decision making for the Government though. Whatever the clubs decide to do, they will piss off a section of their fanbase

Forgive me for asking, but how come the last games of the Premier League season masks were required in grounds, but I saw very little of them being worn at Wembley during the Euros?

Next stage of the testing for events, so the rules changed.
