Coronavirus

This Saffa variant has been detected in Walsall (WS2) it seems. Manky fuckers.
My mother in law and sister in law both live in WS2. When the news announced it Mrs Trips messaged them and told them, and the 2 of them carried on organising to meet up later this week. Idiots

New variant also up where one of my sons live - no one has any idea how it got there at the moment, but supposedly they are going to rush around testing people to see if it has spread

Dad's been vaccinated, Mom and step dad due at the weekend. Wife's parents already been done.

We're getting there

So just been told my boss has covid. She left at lunch as both her husband and son has it and took a rapid test in town
Last week 2 engineers and and tech also contracted it
There's only 2 of us left in the dept who haven't (to my knowledge) come down with it

You would hope someone realised that whatever pace we've been going at for shot 1 will have to be replicated starting 12 weeks after the first injection, and have ordered a sufficient quantity of guaranteed supplies to do that.
You'd hope so but as we've seen recently, ordering and receiving are two different things.

My mum booked her first and second appointments when she made her booking online. Think that pretty standard.

On the plus side you'll have herd immunity at work now!

yep, my folks were the same.
first jab week just gone.
2 jab booked for mid april.
believe they had astrazeneca. Dad said his arm ached a bit for 3 days (he's diabetic amongst other things, and has been home injecting since 1980, so knows a lot about injections!) Mom didn't feel a thing.
They're continuing to self shield for 3 weeks before they think about any venturing out.

Mrs DW's Dad was a bit under the weather for 2-3 days but fine now. Booked in for dose 2 in mid-April.

MiL only got the appointment for the 1st and has been told she will be contacted before April for the her 2nd

I think the difference is if you do it yourself via the nhs portal.

"None of us were able to predict" coronavirus would mutate or variants would emerge - Dido Harding, head of the National Institute for Health Protection

When it was first discovered in the Uk wasn't there 100s of variations of it?

Mutates every couple of weeks like all viruses apparently. The virus that started in China mutated a shit ton of times before it got to Italy for example

We just didn't report it and I truly believe, whilst they are some minor issues with some of the current ones the Governments tone and reaction is to try and keep everyone in check as we head into another month of full lockdown and stop people getting carried with the vaccines working instantly.

So last May, myself and Deutsch were off to see Paul Heaton in London....got moved to November which got moved to this May which has now been moved to October.

So concerts and other crowd stuff seem to be off the cards for the first half of this year at least

My first jab booked for Saturday afternoon now - this rollout has been a success as didn't expect to get the text that early as am right at the bottom of the age range currently being dealt with.

Pretty much the same for my David Baddiel tickets - got moved to November from May yesterday

None of them could predict a virus doing something every virus since the dawn of time has the potential to do? Pull the other one.

None of them could product a virus doing something every virus since the dawn of time has the potential to do? Pull the other one.
She said that today! You would think that after her last appearance at the select committee where she said that nobody could have predicted the surge in the demand for tests after the schools went back she would be better prepared. No she just peddles an absolute lie yet can get away with it because half the population think the Government are doing a decent job of handling the crisis. They are all going to get away with their catastrophic failures because we waived the countries' cheque book around before anybody else did to secure vaccinations.
