To be fair they were reacting to the levels rising in London and acted ahead of the game in a specific area. For once (whether you agree with the Tiers etc) they acted fairly quickly, if you ignore the fact London probably should have been T3 from the moment Lockdown ended of course

From Hancocks comments, everything has been put in the Oxford Vaccine basket right now.
That gets approval they can go full pelt, although amazingly a Government IT system is already struggling to cope.

I think (mainly hope) the Furlough extension is more about supporting some businesses who will take time to get back to where they were and extending the scheme allows them to keep people employed as they rebuild rather than have to lay off people.

Dorset stays in Tier 2 mainly because they keep lumping us in with Bournemouth & Poole which is a different local authority area - cases are really not much higher than Herefordshire if you exclude them.

Seems like most of Europe are either locking down now or announicng them for immediately after Christmas, including Wales and now Northern Ireland, yet nothing from us as we have the tiers. Getting a wonderful feeling of deja vu

Think the Government were hoping for approval this week. A lot of bad shit needed balancing out and their tone is very much a frustrated one when asked about the Oxford vaccine.

I see the USA has now approved a 2nd vaccine as well. Trump the hero who now seems to be responsible for the creation has promised Italy, Spain, Germany & France that the vaccine is ready for them (no mention of us though)
