Boris Johnson plans to steam ahead with the HS2 project, one of the most demanding and exciting transport projects in Europe!! Connecting major cities in the Midlands and North it could treble the number of passengers between London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

It will also more than likely isolate many communities and make them worse off than they are now, many of them in the former Labour Redbelt who swapped alliegances at the general election and gave Johnson his massive majority and mandate to rule the Nation.

Dominc Cummings wants to scrap it as he feels this is betraying those very people that put Johnson in power and feels they have a moral obligation to nott betray the faith lifelong Labour voters put in the Conservative Party and that the money would be far more better spent within those communities, creating stimulus ,regeneration and growth instead of cutting them out and benefiting large companies and fat cats who would in all likelihood benefit the most.

He is a divisive character, but he's not the complete cunt some people would like to think he is, and I'd rather have him advising Boris and guiding Government strategy than not.

A spokesman for the European Commission said the UK was in meetings where joint procurement was discussed and said the UK had the "opportunity" to signal if they wanted to participate.

“The possibility to launch procurement procedure have been discussed several times in meetings of the health security committee in which the UK participated," he said.

"At these meetings the commission stressed its readiness to further support countries with procurement of medical counter-measures if needed. So member states and UK had opportunity to signal they wanted to participate."

The Commission stressed that UK "is welcome to join any further procurement.”

If these stats are maintained we might be able to rollback some of the lockdown measures

My guess is they'll stay in place until we've built capacity into the health service. This also means joe public won't see any antibody tests until all of our healthcare staff are immune.

The cynic in me would think that's why PPE has been a little hard to obtain than it should have been

As Stan says. Going to take time and given our isolation wasn’t pretty shit until this time last week it will take a while.

New cases are mostly just a reflection of the number of tests done.

People the world over panic buy toilet paper, water, essential groceries. And in the States they also panic buy guns and ammo.
