Bournemouth 1 Wolves 2: The verdict thread

What a team

Imagine doubting these players and worse still, this manager. We are so fortunate.

If you look at the narratives of each game. The only one there is an argument we should be ahead of is Watford v Burnley

THiS, THIS and THIS again, so much entitled bullshit. Wolverhampton Wanderers are 5th and worse case 6th in the PL after 13 games whilst still likely to play in the knock out stages in the EL. You'd need to be nearly 60 to credibly remember better times

Spot on !

This is the best Wolves team since the early 1970s (close to 50 years ago) - 79/80 was a one off season. In the early 70s Wolves WERE one of the top 4/6 teams in the league (different times and a different game now, but it was still a bloody good team).

I agree. However, there is now a big six. That did not really exist to such a degree 35 to 40 years ago. See Notts Forest winning everything, Villa as European champions,West Ham winning the cup, Luton winning the league cup, Oxford too. The big six should be the top six. Regardless of position. Any team that breaks into that has over performed. I said that in may on the Cybertosis thread. Leicester are over performing. We are about right in terms of points. The fact that puts us 5th is an unexpected bonus. 5th with 4 wins in 13 is not the norm folks. That's not negative its fact. I love the fact we have just beaten Bournemouth. Awful bunch

Back then there was probably a big 3 - Liverpool, Leeds and Arsenal. Then you had Everton (they won the title in 69/70 but weren’t really challenging apart from that season), Spurs, Chelsea, Man. City and Wolves as the next rank.

Was expecting a Cyber comment about this result. Bournemouth score a higher % of their goals before halftime than any other PL team. We score the highest % after halftime.

And on that subject - when was the last time we scored 2 goals in the 1st half of a PL match away from home? Was it Everton last season? It's not something that happens often enough.

Well only 1 game to go in the cursed month of November...so glad its nearly over.

Agreed! Shame about September this year! But then the season started early! About time we had a decent November. It was well overdue.

Just so you know I am chuffed to bits we won but stop short of proclaiming us the next Barcelona

Yep. He was able to see things weren't working and changed them. Results and performances have improved.

We finished in the top 6 twice in the 1st division between 67 (after promotion from L2) until 76 (relegation from L1).

I completely disagree. Look who was winning stuff. Liverpool Everton Forest, Arsenal, Spurs, Coventry, Wolves, West Ham, Man Utd, Ipswich, Aston Villa Norwich, all won something at least once between 1977 and 1987. The league was far less predictable and far more competitive than now as were the cups.

True

First ever in the premier league.
The record is now 6 5 11 since 2013.

Still an improvement that I will happily take, hence the SIG change.

Lineker just said Damn, when mentioning that Wolves climbed three places in the league. What's his problem with us? It can't be the whole thing with Bully surely?

He didnt...he said Dan. He was pointing out Danny Murphy getting it wrong when he said we were 6th.

Nothing happened between him and Bully. A myth.

He even started his piece on us saying we are a really good team. Gary likes us.

Yeah the conspiracy theory on twitter is growing because of the running order. Seriously if that’s all people have to moan about then it just says how well things are going.

They do know he doesnt pick the running order?

Every set of fans think the BBC hate them when they are on last.
