that’s me told!
As a Brit looking in, we mostly assume you can walk into Walmart stick an assault rifle and ammo in the trolley with your bags of milk, pizzas and big bags of chips, stroll out and visit the local school to shoot it up

In some places it's pretty damn close to that, honestly, just not with any weapon that "fires multiple rounds with a single press of the trigger".

Small blessings, ay? Personally, I don't see why even a "law-abiding" gun nut would need to own a fully automatic weapon, but I digress...

Obviously not an expert, but don't bump stocks effectively circumvent those regulations? Believe they may be widely if not universally available still?

Bump stocks were outlawed in early 2019 (by Trump, go figure). There are ongoing court challenges but they're currently illegal to possess at all.

Not America shocker!

5 dead in a synagogue shooting in East Jerusalem

Other reports have said the device was left along beaconside cyclepath.

3 dead (including the shooter) and 5 injured at Michigan State University. All university activities cancelled for 48 hours.

A tiny little town of 290 people was the site of America's latest mass shooting. A place called ARKABUTLA in northern Mississippi saw a 52 year old man go to a filling station and just shoot a guy he didn't know.
Then he went and killed his ex wife and another 4 people.
Cops chased him and caught him and have the fucker in custody.
A stunning stat is that so far as we are in the 49th day of 2023, there have been an astonishing 74 mass shootings in America so far!
That's around 2 mass shootings every 3 days!!
One thing that caught my attention was a 19 year old kid went to help a victim and he saw the gunman, "... so I drew my own pistol!"
I thought, do these guys just walk around with guns anyway, all the time?
And yes they do! A Texan Govenor has just written into law that it is now not a requirement to have a permit to carry a gun. In public.
You can go get your potatoes, your eggs, your cereal and your Smith & Wesson oh an don't forget your box of ammo.
In Texas you are now allowed to carry a gun in full view. it no longer has to be concealed, you don't need a permit and you don't have to have any training either. Last year Georgia became the 25th state to eliminate the need for a permit or to openly carry a firearm.

The US ratio of firearms to people stands at 120.5 guns per 100 people. Stunning!
In 2021 there were 49,000 gun related deaths in America.
and the final staggering stat is that.....

Around 53 people are killed each day by a firearm in the US.

And they still wont do anything about it!

It’s always too early to talk about gun control after a mass shooting

What kind of gun control would stop this?
giphy.gif

I'm asking a serious question. Americans have a constitutional right to own guns. What reforms to that right would stop massshootings?

Not having any?
Government buyback scheme, say offering $250 per gun ( I have no idea how much a gun is)
Amending the 2nd amendment
Those sorts of things.

There’s been another 6yo yea fuckin 6yo caught with a loaded gun in a school, threatening a classmate in the same area as the 6yo who shot the teacher.
If you think that’s fine, and there’s no need of gun control there’s something wrong.
