Wolves / Covid-19

Five clubs relegated next season, villa,Albion, west ham,Bournemouth + whichever club you hate that's left,it'll be brilliant

Watford please. Would love to see Ben Fo$ter's square face after he sees his top flight career ended forever. An absolute wrister of a man.

Does that assume WBA and Leeds get promoted? Sure that will be swallowed by Forest, Fulham etc

Having seen Forest play against Millwall, I think it's only fair to bar them from promotion just to protect standards.

Leagues have set a target of completing this season by June 30th

Nonsense. Why don’t they just keep quiet?

Can't make any sense.

For whatever period we have off, clubs are guided to have an equivalent period of "pre-season". So if we don't get an all clear for another month then it's another month after that before we can kick a competitive ball.

They're desperate to avoid all the consequences of players not being contracted any more but being asked to play for a club who don't employ them any more. Some will want to extend but others won't, you can't make them.

There won't be any football until June at the earliest with fans in attendance imo, finishing it by the 30th will require games being closed doors

Villatalk will love this news.

Cancel the season as its not fair to finish it, is the general consensus on there.

Self serving relegation fodder wanting their status preserved. Tough shit.

I think that's a really good idea. They'd probably have to try and keep which games are held where a secret, because football fans are bellends, but other than that it seems sensible.

Doesn't solve the problem of players/staff picking it up from somewhere, that kiboshes the whole thing.

Remember that before we kicked off in Athens last week (and how long ago does that feel!), the PL were still confidently stating that it was business as usual wrt the weekend's fixtures. It was Arteta and Hudson-Odoi testing positive that meant everything had to be cancelled. Once one person inside a club gets it then they're out of action en masse, they don't even have a youth team to send out.

Kibosh might be a bit strong. You're not going to get anywhere near a matchday crowd-sized gathering. Needs to be on FTA TV, though, and pubs banned from showing them.

But we're okay with the odd player here or there getting it and potentially infecting their family members?

What message does that send if the rest of the country is working from home and they aren't.

Football isn't essential. No games until it's over IMO.

Who said anything about that? It's surely taken as read that no one is going to work if they have symptoms. That applies here as much as anywhere.

All football off until at least 30th April and the FA board have agreed that the 19/20 season is going to be extended indefinitely until completion.
