Del Bosque is now going to continue being manager of Spain. Lopertegui was the favourite to be given the job.

He reckons on top of the initial £30 million he's invested £75 million on players, the academy and the new North Bank.

Our net spend on players under Morgan is somewhere in the region of £28m...so that's the £30m investment taken care of. The Academy and North Bank were pretty much entirely funded by Premier League income, remember we were making silly profits while we were up there.

If he gets £50m for the club as mooted by Murphy, then I think he'll be slightly up on the deal. There's not a great amount more than the initial £30m investment that he's personally put into the club, which to be clear I don't really have a problem with because he always said that beyond that he wanted the club to be self-funding where possible. How a professional journalist can come to such a silly conclusion I don't know, the accounts are all a matter of public record for crying out loud.

I'm still not sure I get it. Why would a billionaire want to get involved in football? I mean anything we may win is peanuts to a billionaire and who really needs the grief that comes with owning a football club?

If I won the euro millions huge 100m plus stuff that they do I always told my missus I would spend a couple of million on a ground and training facilities to be primarily used by my amateur side. That is an extremely small scale version of what the billionaires do.

Why would any billionaire buy a football club? But plenty do and plenty by clubs they know little of. I suppose when you've got the money the likes of Mr Li have you can buy as a hobby. He might like football, being in IT doesn't mean he couldn't. Maybe he likes the idea of promoting himself and his companies in the UK via this vehicle. There's plenty of reasons.

Yeah bang on, he's just proved in that article that he knows fuck all about what Morgan has done at the club and he knows nothing basically about the takeover apart from what he and the rest of us have read on the internet.

:icon_lol: As Deutsch said, it's happening.

Yes, Walsall, he has.

Is that to the Ballague question? Very good , now to await confirmation in a cool, calm manner :coffee1:

Both. I've no reason to distrust my source to be honest as it all sounds very concrete.
