Senior Cup Final at Molineux. Wednesday 10th May. 7.45 ko

Makes Walsall look a bit silly, clearly someone had a rethink

I'd really like Silvio to be given a chance in the first team, should he prove his fitness. He at least seemed like a proper full-back.

The chances of us keeping him on next season are pretty low though, I imagine.

Also, interesting to see Hayden, Randall and Johnson involved. Clearly their respective loan clubs deemed they weren't ready for competitive football. Simpson and Deslandes have slipped from the radar, though.

Hayden will get released in the summer, I'm not sure why he got another contract, he's never really looked close to good enough and was rank bad for Newport on loan last season.

I think Deslandes will go too, not shown any discernible improvement in two years.

It's a shame we can't bring through a quality defender anymore.

Graham and Silvio starting, Zyro expected to come on at half time for Graham. Fingers crossed for no setbacks

Won 3-1, Armstrong and Wilson (2), the second an overhead kick. 45 each for Graham and Zyro, 90 for Silvio and a 15 minute cameo for Ennis.

Get all the returning players involved ASAP please and Wilson is in some very decent form too.

Surely Wilson is pushing for a place in the first team. I definitely think he should get a go before the end of the season.

Wilson and Ennis will get chances before the season is out. As should Herc. I'm still pretty angry about how KJ failed to use our midtable position to blood young players in last season.

Absolutely. Even if it was only Conor Hunte and Bradley Reid (the former appearing to have no brain at all and the latter being a Conference player at best) we had nothing at all to lose. He also played Bright for an hour on the right wing vs Rotherham and that was it. Best have another look at James Henry and Adam Le Fondre.

Wilson has surely earned a spot on the bench now. We know what we're getting from Bod and Dicko so let's see what he can do.

Bright should have played every game. Likewise with Hunte who came on in one game and actually looked alright. like you said, they might not have been ready but at least we would have learned something. Hopefully those who witnessed that last season (Thelwell, Rob Edwards) are able to help us not make the same mistake. May be wishful thinking...

After the win tonight it means our U23's are now in the Promotion play offs. So some extra competitive games for the likes of Graham and Zyro

What are the chances of Wilson starting a game before the end of the season, pretty good I'd say

We were in too much trouble recently to put our faith in the likes of Bright playing regularly, as he has showed almost zero end product. He's had his chance and hasn't shown enough. The likes of Ronan, MGW and the other lads like Ennis and Wilson still deserve more games to assess them properly.

Now we're virtually safe then fair enough Bright could play more, but he needs regular games IMO to develop and I don't believe he's currently good enough for us. Not yet anyway. And Fosun don't seem like the kind of people to just put their trust in borderline good enough youngsters to get us promoted.

Went tonight. Wilson looks every bit ready for a first team spot - pacy, strong, eye for a pass and two excellent finishes. Graham looked lively for 20 or so minutes, including one very naughty drag back/nutmeg then faded as the half wore on. Zyro was a little quieter save for one rasping drive. Ennis had a lovely 20 minute cameo, who looks to have bulked up, after coming on for the Duck who really isn't anywhere near good enough for us. Good physique but he's a mid to low table L1 player at best. Mix up between Hayden and Burgoyne for the Norwich goal, Sellars was absolutely berating Hayden for not dealing with it. Silvio completed 90 mins and after a shaky start had a very strong second half - as he should at this level.

Interestingly, when defending corners we left three men up the field - Wilson, the Duck and Graham. When defending free kicks from in and around the box we set a ridiculously high line which Norwich seemed baffled as to how to deliver the ball against it.
