Wolves 3 - Cardiff 1. Another step towards sanity verdict thread

I enjoyed that game in the end the better footballing side won the game.
More I watch Ben Marshall the more I'm impressed by him, the quality of delivery for the first two goals was top draw.
Costa goal is as good as you'll see all weekend.
Cardiff area an effective side who play to their strengths.
But on the downside what on earth was Lonergan doing for their goal and when he flapped at a cross midway through the first half.

If our owners want to see us back in the premier league, then their priority must be in keeping Costa. Selling our best player would show their lack of ambition.

As for Costa - the conversion from loan to full transfer always had the feeling of being a jigsaw piece in a bigger plan. As for the owners, an organisation of their wealth doesn't need to mess around with the purchase of a football club of our current size and finances if it weren't ambitious.

Don't think that Batth could miss with either of his, though WTF was Lonergan doing for their goal

Quality from Costa

I didn't really think it was lonergans fault for their goal, he'd have to have gone through their player to get the ball. In my view our centre backs should have dealt with it rather than leaving an opposition player alone in the 6 yard box

It's pretty simple, enjoy Helder Costa scoring goals like he did today and understand he probably won't be at Wolves next season. We will have a replacement and if Mendes wants to carry on earning money from us the replacement will be quality.

I was impressed with Evans today, he had a poor 10-15 mins at the start and then really imposed himself.

Differing view, all Lonners fault!

Looked at it again & yes someone should have covered the scorer to make it at least difficult to get it on target, but Lonergan was still slow off his line

Lonergan has disappointed me. He is a shadow of the keeper he was 3 or 4 years ago. Shame. New keeper essential for the future.

Absolute keeping rickett for me. Nicely balanced by a terrific goal by Costa.

The more I watch Costa's goal the better it gets

Real control of the ball & quick feet - even at the top level of football no one was preventing that from going in

Rather happy with the 3 points against the dirty dirty dirty dirty Warnock side. Neil Warnock inherited a half decent Cardiff side and has turned the players against themselves. I reckon if he held a piece of gold within a minute it would turn to a piece of shit

I think you need to take a second look at how Cardiff's season has played out pre/post Warnock.

Got to say through gritted teeth Warnock has done well there. 2 defeats in 11. When he was appointed they were bottom three. Now safe in mid table

What could he have done differently? (I'm not being argumentative just trying to understand how others saw it)

Half a second slow. If you come , you get it. If you can't get it stay at home. One of those he would have looked better conceding whilst on his line than doing a fresh air Superman

Quality from Costa

I think Batth does well on the first one, follows it in and then has to adjust his body as the ball comes back behind him so decent effort to get a good connection and direct it goalward, the second is easier as the bloke marking him gets trapped between him and Hause so doesn't even get off the ground.

Think Cardiff's goal is just a bit shit all around, initial clearing header from Hause barely makes the edge of the box at waist height, half the team tries to push out with some left straggling in behind playing people onside, weak from Cavaleiro on the edge of the box when I'm not really sure what he's planning on doing with it there and then zero anticipation from Lonergan or anyone defending so when it comes back their way they're all like statues gawping at a pathetic header sailing into their net.

Warnock at his best post match, says they lost it and we didn't win it and the decisions didn't go there way.
If he can't see the quality in the second and third goal then he's a dilluded idiot.
