So if he accidentally fractures his skull it's still OK?

Mane caught Ederson by accident on Saturday. Still a foul and a red card.

Seem to remember people defending Henry when he accidentally broke Zamora's leg, or does the tune change when it's the other way around?

An injury doesn't mean it has to be a foul.

It was a foul was it not? It was an unfortunate injury but definitely a foul as was the challenge on Batth.

These are the rules, that challenge had a few you could tick off in my opinion

http://www.thefa.com/football-rules.../football-11-11/law-12---fouls-and-misconduct

Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed

Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned

Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off

At the very least it's carelessness

A good example I suppose would be the Milijas sending off against Arsenal. They upheld that decision despite clear evidence than minimal contact was made. Milijas very clearly won the wall but was alleged to have been dangerous in doing so. I think the challenge on Batth was far worse than that and considerably more dangerous.

I'm not sure it's conclusive he even catches him with his arm. The angle makes it look like he does, but I think it moves out of the way just in time and they clash shoulders/heads.

Let's assume for a moment there is no elbow just the force at which he hits him with head or shoulder could that cause concussion in your opinion?

Although i wasn't there last night just thought i'd give my thoughts on a couple of things.

The challenge on Batth is definitely a penalty, yes Wright i think it was for them wins the ball but he basically forearm smashes Danny in the face in doing so, not sure you've ever been allowed to do that and he knows what he's doing.

Their penalty while i can understand why it's given Vinagre is turning away and when you do that your arm comes out, no way was it intentional or unnatural but his arm was out. Linesman should be giving it though, ref has guessed.

Bennett is poor, seen him plenty enough times for Norwich and every other centre half that has played this season is better than him and so is Hause.

Bonatini is class, anyone who thinks otherwise just doesn't get his role.

Miranda is miles better than Batth on the ball, think some are seeing things they want to see. Miranda never really worried me on the ball when i've seen him and have it on good authority Batth was poor on the ball last night.

Exactly this. It began after Miranda got beaten so cheaply by Hoilett in the Cardiff game since then some people have developed this issue with him, on all Wolves patforms/fora. It's confirmation bias.

Mmm...

Not particularly. They are both jumping into the same spot. Two into one doesn't go. They both went in with force knowing the other one was there. The Bristol lad possibly a bit harder.

Is the image not displaying?

Batth has a higher average pass completion rate, higher average amount of passes and far higher average amount of clearances than Miranda.

Quite interesting to compare the 4.

There are lies , damn lies and football stats. Dave Edwards had impressive stats last year but thank god, has gone and good luck to him. Batth looks better than last year. Miranda looks tidy. If both played to the best of their ability I would take big Rod. He has a bit more quality.

Too small a sample size to compare yet.

I agree to a degree.

But my only argument has been that Batth was better than Miranda last night, i think this helps underline that.

Of course he does, those stats are based on Miranda playing five games more than Batth.

It's hardly a fair comparison is it? I'd expect Batth to have a higher completion % when he's played over 400 minutes fewer and therefore made far fewer passes.

Saiss has been the better player than Neves according to the stats*, but we all know Neves is better and will be over the season.

* And he has been for the last two or three games IMO.
