Wolves 3-4 Man Utd: Verdict Thread

Really, because I don't think that's true at all.

I'm ignoring your silly last line.

Of course this is just a distraction from your original point which I don't think was a foul and nobody around me did either.
Onana hit Kilman, late, after the ball had gone, it was also dangerous as it was reckless.

It wasn't as bad as the one at Old Trafford, but it was a very clear foul in the same way as being late in the tackle is a foul if you play the man after the ball has gone.

And yes Luiz did exactly that to Raul.

Don't be silly.

It's very unusual for it to be worn around the knee at this level!

Clearly all I'm saying is, all the repeated statements of "why did he play Doc, he should have played RAN, there is no reason not to play RAN" should be fettered by the fact that RAN's knee was strapped? No?

But several of you just keep just saying "I'd have played a half fit RAN anyway" I mean how daft is that!?
You omit the option of playing Toti there and bringing in Santi which I hope is the case on Sunday if RAN isn’t fit enough to play a full game.

You've said yourself that Bueno is clearly not a valid option at the moment.
So play Toti on the left (not ideal but he's fine for what he is) and play Santi who was excellent when called upon last month.

You cannot play Matt Doherty in the Premier League on the wrong side in 2024, you just can't.

Anyone else on the pitch apart from a GK and it's a foul.

I'm not sure why keepers seem to get away with it. Players can challenge each other for headers and lose without giving a way a free kick, clattering into someone though after the ball has gone is a free kick.

They aren't ever given though so it's become acceptable that it's ok.

So after playing Doc against Brighton (0-0 decent performance) and against Albion (clean sheet, assist, decent performance) he should have moved Totti out of CB, and brought in Bueno from the cold, and adjusted Dawson and Kilman too? Off the back of 2 clean sheets and 2 good defensive performances?

It's just not going to happen is it, this isn't football manager, he has to MANAGE players theyre not just names on paper, and where's the guarantee that Totti would have performed there anyway? Totti does a lot of work pressing into midfield that Bueno wouldn't be doing. It changes the whole dynamic

We'd have all played RAN over Doc yesterday, but we didn't know RAN was carrying a knock, if we all knew that before the game we wouldn't have been moaning about him playing Doc, yet we saw the knee strap (on) when RAN came on, and are still moaning about him playing Doc 🤯

It got given against Burnley the other week, in the Luton game.

But you're right, generally it doesn't get given as the two Onana incidents have shown. Its bollocks and its dangerous.

He's going to break someone's jaw if he carries on like that, it's as dangerous as a two footed tackle.

Toti, unfit Bueno, strap-on wearing RAN, and maybe even Keto-Diyawa should be ahead of Matt Doherty at LWB. I don't care that he wasn't awful in a game against some shit Championship side and managed to not fuck up against Brighton. He's not good enough, he's not fit enough, and he's not disciplined enough. His selection for last night's game is completely and utterly indefensible.

Yes, because Doherty is fucking wank.

We've lost a game because we waited for him to prove what everyone knew 10 years ago, great stuff.

"Don't drive round that corner at 50mph, it's dangerous, you can't see what's round there and you'll probably crash"

"Meh, I did it last week and it was fine"

CLUNK.

I'll go on record and join in with the pile on to say that Doc wasn't decent last Sunday. they had a field day down our left hand side and take a look at his pathetic attempt to cut the ball out for their best chance which Assante (sp?) blazed over.

My usual rebuttal is that “play your best players” is a moving target and doesn’t allow for player development doesn’t even apply here: Doc’s ceiling is behind him, not in front of him.

It was Toti that was getting skinned in the early period of that game, not Doc, we were playing that weird and wonky hybrid 5/4 formation again.
