Wolves 3-0 Leicester: Verdict Thread

First game at Molineux since we lost to Coventry! Great to be back.

For a dead rubber, brilliant performance. Quite slow first half, but very comfortable. Second half was better, such a good pass from Cunha for the second goal. Fortunate Vardy missed the pen but that took any remaining heart out of Leicester, they were completely lifeless. Some serious shit in that team, all of Vardy, Skipp, Thomas were absolutely shocking. We were very professional in sweeping aside the shit.

Ref a bit shit, Leicester got away with some foul throws and the yellow for Toti at the start is a bad decision.

Feel very fortunate that Fosun stumbled onto a good coach who was desperate to manage in the Prem and clearly absolutely loves being here. Contrast that to Leicester who have appointed someone completely out of his depth. I thought we were as good as down if we lost to Leicester away in December - imagine being offered two 3-0 wins over them and being 23 points clear by the end of April?! Unbelievable turnaround. Oh, and when Pereira joined our GD was 3 worse. Now it's 39 better. He has injected such a more positive mood and atmosphere into the club with really only two new players. Fantastic.

Whether or not you think Vardy dove, Sá has made an extremely poor decision to get that close to him when the ball was plainly out of reach from the off.
I think everyone is entitled to their opinion...

I think you can simultaneously fairly think that Vardy dived while Sa (for the millionth time) was slow off his line and put himself in a position where he gave the attacker the opportunity to win a penalty. It’s one of his weaknesses.

IMO he comes out to force Vardy into a decision. If he just stays still it's a simple finish. Sa comes out but only so far to avoid the foul. Vardy is very experienced and knows the ref will probably buy a bit of 'gamesmanship'.

Leicester were 5 points above us when Vitor took over, right before we played them at their place. Van Nistelrooy had just got 6 points from his first three games with wins against West Ham and Brighton, then decided to play Danny Ward in goal against us....

Four months later and we're 23 points above them, done the double over them with a 6-0 aggregate and are sitting in 13th. Meanwhile Leicester look the worst team in the league by an absolute mile.

6 wins on the trot from a team that under GO didn't look like getting 6 wins all season. Incredible.

Leicester were poor but we did more than enough to win comfortably. I don't think there was one Leicester player I'd want even on a free.

Pick of the bunch for us were:
Andre who just seems to be in the right place most of the time. Gomes wasn't far behind him and covered a lot of ground.
Cunha who breezed past two or three players a number of times. Poor finishing stopped him scoring more but any team interested in signing him will have left with a positive view.
RAN who despite losing the ball with his tricks a couple of times ensured we kept causing problems down his side of the pitch.
Larsen who linked play much better than of late and after an unbelievable miss put his next chance away perfectly.
Rodrigo who added much needed energy and took his goal really well.

If we get the key signings right over the summer next season should be relatively enjoyable.

Had a lovely day seeing family and bringing my eldest to his first match since 2022...his first ever game was the 4-0 v Blackpool so he's pretty good luck but we didn't need it against an abject Leicester team.

My God Andre and Agba look even better in the flesh (what a fucking player the former is), nice positive and celebratory atmosphere during and after the game, and six on the trot is so encouraging.

My boy loves Rodrigo so a goalscoring sub appearance was 👌

Only downside was not seeing Nasser in the flesh

Currently still in Wolvo celebrating with my lad and tempted to stay late and stalk Vitor at Spoony's...xxx
