Wolves 2 Villa 1: The Verdict thread

Anyone else in the league would kill to have Adama in this form, forget last season. They've worked with him and he is a fucking beast. Fact.

The boys done good. Moutinho MOTM for me, great game. AND I stayed past 90 minutes, so there.

Brilliant game, we played really well. Better finishing from Raul and Jota and it could have been 6.

Great listening to WM phone in on the way home.

Coady / Neves / Traore MotM, but they all played really well. Looked a little tired in the last 20 mins but fully deserved the win.

Totally lost my voice too.

Oh and the referee was a fucking embarrassment.

Best first half of the season by a mile. Better decision making and finishing from Jota, Raul and Adama (in that order) and that could've been 3 by half time. And neto wants fucking with a mango after that too. Midfield 4 were phenomenal, and the back three looked solid out of posse3a d exquisite with it.

Always good to get a win against the Vile.

Thought we played really well from what I saw, missed the first half hour.

We are guilty of being wasteful with our chances, not really sure what the answer is but we keep on creating them so that's a positive.

Thought Adama was great he's such a threat to have on the pitch, a bit of a wild card but hes a great outlet. Moutinho is one hell of a footballer, I never thought I would see a midfielder in a Wolves shirt of his calibre, but as pointed out on the match day thread, I really wish hed clear the first man at a corner!

Neves goal was a thing of beauty, and Jimenez is one hell of a player, watching old videos of John Richard's he seems to be a similar to him in style

I really enjoyed that. I hope it clears up the arguments about who has the better side - we controlled the game, should have scored more and looked like a decent side. Except their goal at the end, I thought our back 3 were excellent. Not bad for 3 'midfielders', eh?

Traore is great to watch this season. When he drops the shoulder and sails past defenders it looks breathtaking. His delivery isn't perfect but neither is it predictable! The run and cross for the winner was brilliant.

Moutinho comfortably man of the match. He ran midfield and just makes it look so easy. Neves also played really well.

Reminded me a bit of the Man Utd match last season in which we had enough chances to have won by a few goals, looked a much better side against a side who didn't really know how to stop us, and who offered very little.

Off down to London tonight - I'll enjoy a few beers on the train after that.

Villa were absolutely naff, in the first half especially. They'll look a ton better when they can get Grealish and McGinn back in the team.

McGinn played, not that you’d have noticed him.

Great listening to WM phone in on the way home.

There must be 500+ players who have played for Wolves and are still alive and the best they can find is Mel Eves, he can barely string a coherent sentence together.

As for the game. Comfortably the best we've played at home this season. Delighted with the result, a shame the scoreline didn't reflect the dominance.

Thursday nights game showed in the second half when we looked leggy. Although strangely Jota looked the most shot. Thought Donck was motm, decent distribution and when they had their spell it was he that kept getting his head on the ball.

and also Wesley's elbow everyfuckingtime and the ref didn't give a shit.

No better sign that Brazil are shit at the moment than Wesley being in the squad. Not usually one for over the top hyperbole, but he a proper coward of a footballer.

but he a proper coward of a footballer.

Aye.

Also been reading how great McGinn is for Villa. Not sure if he was just shit or outclassed by the 2 midfielders we would apparently drop in a heart beat for him. Finally Marvelous Nakamba, drop the first name pal, it really doesn't fit.

Villa fans are saying its the worst game McGinn has had all season and he's useless without Grealish.

hate to be negative in a win, but the forwards need a serious kick up the backside. the jota/raul magic of last year just doesn't exist this season, and as mentioned all of them had some thoroughly selfish moments. not a mystery why we draw so many despite generally being solid out the back.

came out and absolutely bossed the first half (for once!), didn't concede first (for once!). traore showing so much improvement. moutinho motm, absolutely immense. backline/midfield, neves free kick was great. saiss yellow card in under 10 minutes, not great. started to let them take control for a few minutes at the end but thankfully started to work out of it instead of just sitting back like normal.

whoever said, "good performance with room for improvement" nailed it on the head.

How many times are we going to say “should/could have been 4-5”. The lads up top need to start showing more cutting edge.

However, excellent win and performance. We started to drop deeper in the final 20 mins (and I’m gutted they scored), but that’s understandable given the fact we played 98 odd minutes on Thursday night.

Moutinho was superb today - some of his tracking back, hard work and tackles were fantastic (MOTM). Neves played really well alongside him. Thought Jonny had a very good game as well. Adama was excellent again and another assist for him. Could and probably should have been two when he didn’t slide in Doc in the first half. Have to say I genuinely think we have one of the most exciting footballers out there on our books now that he’s started to come up with some end product on a regular basis.

Just think where we’d be if we had turned just a couple of those frustrating draws in to wins.

better having a problem about missing 3 or 4 chances than not creating any I guess.
