Wolves 2-2 Spurs: EFL Cup 3rd Rd - Bah Lost on Penalties Verdict Thread

It's just a different opinion to yours mate.

Creating an opportunity for a team mate, IS an end product, it's not his fault if those players don't finish said opportunity. See Raul's terrible miss against Brentford for details.

Leaving that aside, we looked far better when Traore came on, we had more impetus, we had an out ball, we were occupying their left side. We were just better.
Can't agree with any of that.

Firstly he didn't create a single chance last night. It was said earlier that he was detrimental to our attacks before he gave the ball away.

He is a very poor right winger at the moment, no end product and a circus act.

Replacing Fabio with a cone would've made us instantly better last night. The catalyst to us being better was not Traore's introduction but the move of Hwang to the centre and Podence to the left. It was their presence along with Donk that bought us back into the game. Nothing to do with Adama.

I'd much rather see the fluid movement of a front three of Pod, Trincao, Hwang/ Raul than see endless dribbles end up with a smashed cross out nothing.

Fabio hasn`t shown any progression from when he first came here. Not good enough to warm the bench so may as well loan him out. I would be interested to see what team, at what level, would be interested in taking him.
He's been at Wolves for 1 year, as a teenager, having had very little first team exposure previously. What level of development are you expecting to see?

What is the loan going to do for him? Playing a competitive game on a weekend is maybe 10% of a professional footballer's time I'd guess, there's a hell of a lot more scope for them to work on their game and improve themselves on the training pitch than there is by playing a competitive game. Would you sacrifice the quality of coaching he gets at a Premier League club for 90% of his time to a significantly lower standard just so he can get a bit more experience in the 10% of his time at the weekend?

Traore scares defences but without being able to cross accurately or finish regularly he nullifies himself! Impact sub I can get behind. i much prefer your option as it keeps the ball on the floor and plays to the strengths of those three/ four.

One thing I don't understand with Traore is why does he feel the need to absolute leather it when he crosses it, it's like he's trying to take someone's head off.

Adama Traore is like having a corner, looks far more threatening than it actually is.

This is laughable rubbish. Smashing the ball where no one can get it is not creating a chance.

Beating players does not get you goals. There has to be end product or he’s just a FIFA street character.

He was appalling, losing the ball in his own half, unable to pass or even see a pass and standing still when people wanted him to move.

As DW says he played well at inside left but Podence is a better option there and Trincao better on the right.
But on the other hand numerous amounts on here said Hwang had a good game despite failing to trap simply crosses and passes more then 3 or 4 times...

Or the fact that people were doubling up on Adama allowing hwang and Podence more space.

or by bringing traore on allowed hwang to play centrally…

That's exactly the opportunity he needs

It's also a bit of a lesson not to write players off at 19.
You're right it's the level he should be at. He should be at a Sunderland banging goals in and learning his trade.

That means Jeff and Co losing face and I'm not sure they're going to let that happen. They should he'll be a better player for it as he's not going to improve here by not playing.

Nope, nothing to do with the goal.

Jeff Shi literally said this in one of the Ask Wolves videos
Only just seen you said they were comments from the club rather than fans, obviously they have an agenda when making such comments and they've never going to knock one of their players in the media, think it's a different kettle of fish to fans assessments.

Still, everyone can see what he is, a child. A very expensive one, granted, but a child nonetheless and I think that unfortunately clouds a lot of peoples' views on him.

Hwang was better than Fabio centrally and linked with Pod well.

He did have a stinking first 30 minutes (I said as much in the match day thread) and missed a difficult chance but he should've at least got his header on target.

Hwang's link with Donk was decent as well as Pod. He's not as good as Raul but I'd be tempted to put him central if Raul is frustrated again on Saturday.

Hwang has only been at the club a few weeks. Adama has been here for what feels like forever and has not improved a jot.

That's exactly my point, they shouldn't let one mistake lead to more, avoidable, mistakes.

I suppose thats a valid comment... But before Adama came on we didnt press heavily in that first half, however at least with him on we looked a better attacking unit.

Adama’s biggest asset is that he scares the shit out of defenders with his pace and teams unquestionably have to account for him. His biggest weakness is that eventually they realise that he does jack shit with it anyway and if they have a defender with pace they can completely nullify him.

Someone on the matchday thread said Adama has the unique ability of coming on the pitch and making both us and the opposition look more dangerous...only watched the penalties on a stream, but the comment made me chuckle

I don't know how anyone can watch that game and think Adama is even in the top 10 'things to take from it', performance or personnel-wise. If you think that, it's cos you're looking for it

The way people talk you'd think we had two or three other forwards on a hot streak waiting to take his place. When we do, happy for Adama to warm the bench

Nope, nothing to do with the goal.
The goal? Sorry, must’ve missed I mentioned he had an input in the goal, or that was all that happened in the 2nd half.

Whatever suits the agenda, Ey.
