Hwang was immense, he's a great player to watch. Unreal engine on him, chases down every lost cause, is strong in the tackle, has good pace and is a good dribbler. Today also proved that he's a cool finisher and knows how to put away a chance. His link-up play with Raul was excellent, and they clearly enjoy paying together.
Raul looked completely back to his old self. Strong, confident. lovely flicks and through balls. Clearly he was being weighted down massively by the lack of goals, and it looks like he's fully regained match fitness - kudos to Bruno for being patient and believing in him (though we don't really have any other options up front anyway...).
I'm still not sold on Neves and Moutinho through the middle, and I think we lack physicality there. I would prefer Donck/Moutinho at the moment. Joao had a really good game - made some imnportant interceptions and his distribution was excellent. Neves was, unfortunately, sloppy in possession and gave the ball away cheaply for their goal, and there was other moments in the game towards the end when he gave away possession.
I didn't think Trincao was as bad as many in the thread thought. He's too easily knocked off the ball though and needs to be stronger in possession. There's a player in him though. Needs to be scoring that chance. I think our team has better balance with him starting ting over Traore, as we almost always revery to type of long ball to Adama, who runs at the defender and then loses the ball. Tbh I would not be overly disappointed if we sold Adama, and I am not convinced we should be blowing 100k a week on a player with minimal end product.
Semedo was okay, though didn;t do much going forward. There were multiple times that he had acres of space to run into and just didn't. Not sure whether that was tactical. Marcal probably had his best game all season, which isn't saying much. He was solid in defence, but still doesn't offer much going forward.
The back 3 were solid. Kilman was absolutely excellent against ASM, read him extremely well and dispossesed him mutliple times. Boly is not getting back into the side any time soon. Coady and Saiss had a fairly quiet game, and the back three in general were relatively untroubled.
Sa is a funny one - reminds me of early De Gea at United. He moves quite erratically, always looks like he's rushing his kicks or about to lose possession, but in fact his distribution is excellent. Fantastic save in the second half to deny ?ASM. Brave goalkeeping vs Joelinton, and looked like he was genuinely in pain. Ref should be stopping play at that point to be honest - could have easily been a head injury. However their goal was completely of our own making not being able to effectively clearl their lines, plus Sa still being down. Cracking finish right into the bottom corner though.
All in all - much better. Passing in general was a million times better than the last few games, and we looked more like how we played in the first 3 games. Bruno has clearly adapted the style to be more conservative and proves that he knows to grind out results. I like him, intelligent coach, and has clearly realised that we do not currently have the players to be able to play the swashbuckling football that we signed him for. My main criticism today was the lack of use of the bench. Midfield and attack was starting to tire in the second half and we were giving away possession easily. We should have bought Adama on way earlier, and maybe Donck to provide more steel in the midfield. Adama is a great sub to bring on towards the end of games - his pace stretches the opposition defence, and provides a good counter-attascking outlet. He looked mightily pissed off when he came on, and apparently had a right old tantrum down the tunnel...
