Wolves 2 - 0 Aston Villa: May we never take this nosebleed for granted.

I thought Saiss was one of those players last season who the more he was out of the side the better he became. When he got his chance he either didn't look particularly interested - switched off, not tracking runners or tried to be too Hollywood. Without knowing what was happening behind the scenes it's impossible to know whether you blame him or the respective managers for that.
One thing is for sure he is a totally different player this year and in my opinion has been even more impressive than Neves.

.

Would say Lambert had no idea how to get the best out of him. He had him sat so deep and then the rest of the midfield so high his only option at times was the hollywood ball. He also seemed to struggle with short passes for a while, he almost gifted Rotherham 2 goals at Molineux with 2 shit short passes out wide. He also carried a knee injury for a bit as well.

So with poor tactics, injury and no doubt a bit of "what the fuck am I doing here" at times it just meant we weren't seeing the best of him. From all accounts, those that saw his debut up at Newcastle were saying one of the best debuts they had seen. His performance at QPR (barring the last 5 minutes when he forgot he was a footballer) was very good. So you could see what he was capable of so I get why people rated him.

You can certainly see Saiss in the nominations for player of the season when votes are cast next year. Clever as well as having quality on the ball.

This season there will be a LOT to choose from, no longer will there be only one realistic choice as Costa was last season.

Don't try to find logic in any of our Player of the Year picks, we're notorious for absolute shockers.

Jota is absolutely nailed on if he continues as he has. Unless Tim II rigs it and Edwards finally gets the award he deserves

I think we can see now that the coaching and management was absolutely rank from top to bottom. You can see the effect Edwards and Mountain are having on their respective clubs now.

I said it on the thread, but there's no way Doherty should have made the Worst Wolves XI. I really don't think he's anywhere near as bad as others do but each to their own. He's limited but has some qualities and isn't letting the side down this season - he deserves his place. And I know he's been awful in the past, but there are different stages of awful. There have been worse.

Had a great week at work this week wearing my Wolves tie. There are few perks to working in Aston but this has certainly been one of them...!

I think you're right

They take time to be fair and often result in a yellow card. Balotelli was fucking awful at them.

It's just general consensus though isn't it that if someone is doing well there will be interest from other teams. Stupid that he said championship clubs but obviously PL clubs will be looking at him. The problem is they don't seem to understand our club situation and why we have him and the fact that we have an exclusive option to buy him.

So Fucking annoying they dont know anything about our players or the contract options we have
and it aint even secret. No researchers at BT obvs

I thought predominately solid British back four showed less research.

He included Keeper, so for that he was not wrong over the last 4 games, Coady = English, Batth = English, Ruddy = English, though for me when all fit has to be 2 English Coady, and Ruddy, with Miranda, and Boly.

Boly is nearing fitness, according to some reports, however not sure how they know given NES's reluctance to elaborate on injuries.

We can be sure on this one. Nuno has said he has been training for 2 weeks so is fit to go. I doubt we will see him v Preston but will start v Man City on Tuesday (easy one to ease him back in...)

Good I like the look when I have seen him, though I did say after Brentford Miranda was the one for me, 2 of his recovering tackles were 2 of the best I have ever seen from any Wolves defender including the 70's of McAlle, Munro, et al

I reckon Boly will start at Man City. Can't see Nuno changing anything (apart from possibly starting with Leo) tomorrow.

Boly and Hause starting on Tuesday with either Batth/Coady in between them. A sign of the strength of our squad that we can field that back line as Norris is a good keeper as well.

Is that definite? Would hope for one to come back, but both with little or no (in Hause's case) football recently against City (who will not put out a full first team, but will still be strong) would be a step too far.

One of them in would be my choice
