Wolves 1 Ipswich 0 verdict thread

Bennett solid. Brought the ball forward a few times too Boly style

Another team came for a point but were left clueless once we went 1-0 up, we should have made it so much more comfortable than it was. Motm for me Neves or Saiss controlled the middle of the park between them.

Surprised with the praise for Boly today, defensively he was superb but he was very sloppy on the ball and made a few poor passes that gave away possession. Thought Bennet was the better of the two wide CBs today.

Neves was superb for me, motm he just had so much space and time.

Thought Ipswich were OK, gave a very stubborn performance but couldn't live with us, another day we get 3.

Such an awkward bro hug at the end.

Bennett was outstanding today. Good in the air, solid in the tackle, not one hoof and played short, accurate passes the the players around him. He was brilliant, there I said it! ;)

The back 3 is really looking solid. I do wonder a bit about Miranda and Hause but hey, can't complain I guess... If he sticks with those 3 and we keep winning it's all good

I am absolutely flabbergasted by Bennets form, didn't understand his signing and didn't think he'd get anywhere near the matchday squad, but he's been very good, a real tribute to Nuno and the coaching staff and the players attitude

Piece of absolute piss. Easiest one nil ever. Great goal by Cav, and Boly was insanely good.

Still not entirely firing fully, but winning

Struggling to see a team that can stop us (though Bristol City will be a difficult game as their tails are up) - it's up to us now to force this home & have an easy ride into the last few games

It was very cosy for a 1-0 in reality and this is against a side who were 8th at the start of play.

Great result.

Barring Coadys erm rustic back pass in the first half and McGoldrick getting a sniff late on which Saiss brilliantly prevented we kept them pretty much at arms length all afternoon.

If I had to pick faults it felt like Boly wasn't quite on the same wavelength with Jota at times (although Jotas chance in the first half was down to a great Boly pass) and Jota as much as I understand his frustrations at the lack of protection he is getting from referees will get himself sent off for lamping a defender at some point. Properly kicked out at one of theirs today in the first.. as I say I totally get how he must feel but hes going to end up giving one of these clowns a decision to make.

Onto the next.

Ipswich were very defensive and hard to break down which meant we couldn't play our usual stuff.

After we scored and they had to come out we created chances without to much trouble.

Shout out to Cav, he looked great today against a resolute defence and what a hit!

Easy as you like really. They had a shot from Waghorn which looking back at the highlights, wasn't as close as I thought it was (still should have at least hit the target), a couple of balls across the box that no-one touched, two saves from Big John that Lonergan would have made and Coady trying to score an OG and that's it. We played within ourselves, we controlled the game for 95% of the time, we really should have scored at least one more goal (Saiss was guilty of the worst miss) and we've found the knack of just winning without too much fuss. They may as well promote us now. We need 36 points from 23 games to hit 90. It's a cakewalk from here.

Bennett, Neves and Saiss were all very good today.

Ref kept losing the plot and made some very odd calls.

Thought Bright looked good today, came on and did exactly what was needed - held on to the ball well, put some decent challenges in and played some good passes.

Agree that the ref was very random. Thought he had forgotten his cards for a while.

Yes, Bright did well. Thought his late effort was heading in, nice strike and the right idea but just curved away.

Ref was odd. At times praising him for his decision making then left baffled by spells that made no sense. How their full back escaped a card for his blatant block on Ruddy and then an over the top foul on Douglas I don't know. Neves gets a yellow for a shirt pull....normally not even a question mark on that but as it followed those 2 incidents it makes little sense.

Love Nuno hes just oozes class, I think it was a fairly straight forward win. We were a bit flat in the first half but improved in the 2nd. The goal sums Cav up perfectly hes so frustrating but always has that little bit of magic stored up, fantastic finish for the goal.

Neves MOTM by a country mile, the 2 dinks in the 2nd half (one at least should have been buried) were epic and his all round play is just orgasmic, Boly the other stand out performer for me.

Roll on boxing day its not a chore watching Wolves anymore.

Yet another comfortable victory. 7 clean sheets out of 9, we look rock solid at the back. Not really giving chances away, let alone goals.

Hard-pressed to name anybody who didn't perform today, they all played well. Neves MOTM for me.

Great day out meeting up with everyone, roll on Brentford in January
