Wolves 1-1 Newcastle: Verdict Thread

I'm not sure that makes a massive difference. We were blowing after 55 mins, I don't think they'd made any subs at that point.
Because we decided not to bother keeping the ball, despite essentially fielding what could easily be a first choice midfield for Portugal. Chasing it around forever knackers you out. I wouldn't mind so much against Man City but when it's Newcastle who were playing both Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock, it grates.

Tactically we are appalling in every respect.

The result at Bournemouth shouldn't make any difference either way. I was on the "let's see how we do when we get a decent striker in" in bus, but I'm now on the "this guy isn't good enough whichever players he has" bus.

Sellars used to play top level football, he must realise this isn't good enough.

Edit. To clarify, a win at Bournemouth shouldn't mean Lage is safe, not should a defeat be the final straw. He's not good enough, whatever happens at Bournemouth doesn't change that

Are we a counter - attacking team or a possession based team? Cos we saw precious little of the ball (and wasted much of what we had with it) so we can't be the latter, and our counter attacks are generally totally ineffective, so it begs the question, how do we think we're going to score, and win games?
This for me too. I had no idea if we were trying to give them possession or what. I was watching it and everything too. I just concluded we had no plan as it seemed the most obvious explanation.

Preaching to the converted my man.

Just wanted to correct it for you.

Spot on, otherwise, mate.

When you have very good players operating way below their potential, that's literally on the manager.

We need someone to put a fire up their arse and take them to another level, not hamper them, which is what the manager is doing at the moment

Absolutely.

Remember how laughable it was that Chelsea had one of the best squads in the world, packed with superstars and the manager was Avram Grant?

Well that's us now, just a level down and 15 years on.

Look at our first XI today. Rammed full of talent, but they're just not a team

Yep big example was in the first half you had 1 or 2 players pressing but others not, numerous balls going from back to front with no one near the ball.

Fortunately it's the easiest change at a football club you can ever make. Providing you want to.

My issue (like Punts) there is we could win the next two but I then expect we will lose at least three of the next four.

P4 W0 D2 L2

P10 W3 D2 L5 (I'm being generous here and saying we can beat West Ham)

Both shit, I'd rather change it earlier than later.

I'm giving Bruno the next couple of eminently winnable games, then I'm jumping on Johnny's Marco Rose bandwagon!
I think this is where I am. I thought they should have made the decision at the end of last season but now they've decided to stick with him and actually change the squad I think he has got until next weekend. I'd have taken 6 points out of these 3 games. The next 2 are the easier of the 3 on paper so we need to be looking at winning them both. The fixtures after those games are not kind.

I’ll be honest,

If MGW had played for us, like Matheus Nunes did today, I’d be slaughtering him now.

If he needs time to get up to speed, I’m sure he’ll be given it.

Hopefully Bruno won’t be afforded the same luxury.

Why though? It's complete madness.

Fuck the twat off. That second half was appalling.

Take Roberts, the shite coaches, the stats wankers, Jeff Shi and Scott Sellars with you.

Absolutely cunts.

Only happens when a manager is losing the plot.

More a case of the player doesn’t care about the punishment for it or has no respect for the manager.
Boly is an arse for doing this but it’s clear Bruno has zero interest in having him in his plans sad way for a player who served us well into getting where we’re to end up like this.
